David Bell Rip off-Total scam-got a call from these guys trying to sell me tape. David Bell is the same owner of Allstate Packing and Shipping in Van Nuys. Check him out before it's too late..

Scam Scam Scam. David Bell, Allstate Shipping Supplies, Northern Lights Manufacturing are one in the same!!! Check this thief out on the Los Angeles BBB Web. Hundreds of complaints. Stay away from these rip offs.

I am no longer affiliated with these people,  they are scam artists and every post you have read is true and more!  However I was just doing the job assigned to me,  as per the owner Bob Levit and David Bell's instruction.

Do not worry they are still operational. They also go in the name of Allstate Canadian Shipping. I have a return adress for 1055, lucien L'allier, suite 350, in Montreal Quebec, H3G 3C4.
We have had the same SCAM done to us, They phone and offer to send a catalogue and the first thing you know is they add a 6dozen of 2" tape along, claiming that it was ordered. No Way the personnel has excepted such an order we us 10 tapes everys 3-5 years....
They treathen to go to court, they offer a reduction, they also request we pay the return of the product.

BE AWARE!!!! They are scamelicious and are FULL of tricks.

Well I just got the same call. Offering me the same stuff etc...then went in to how they were going to send me some tape etc...then right at the end when the idiot thought I wasn't paying attention he mentioned the invoice. I said excuse me what invoice...when I started to say no he hung up. I did call return and it gave me a 800 number that it rings once then goes busy. So I started to search the internet and found this site with this number. I called immediately and went off and told them that if I even received mailings from them that all hell would break loose and to take our company information off their list. Disgusting company...

not only are you a scumbag david bell but you are a liar to boot. you are clearly threatened by forums like these because they educate the public on how to shut down businesses like yours AND its incredibly easy folks. not only is this company in direct violation of FCC laws but in violation of federal trade commission laws. they are crooks and are operating illegally ppl!!!!! do your homework and report them to the fcc here http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm and also to the ftc here https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/  . be sure to also report them to the california attorney general http://ag.ca.gov/contact/complaint_form.php?cmplt=CL  b/c they are operating there in california -not in canada. spread the word and destroy business like this.

Con artist thief. This Northern Lights is just a front for his previous company "Empire Industries". Look him up on the internet and the BBB. Never, never do any business with this person.

We received A package of packing Tape from a company Called Northern Lights MFG, who have a website up and running http://www.northern-lights-mfg.com/contact-us/.  
The caller called offering a free starbucks gift card, as a gift for acepting an order of packaging tape.  The company address shows a different address than that listed ont he company website.  Northern Lights Mfg, 16501 Sherman Way #105A, Van Nuys, CA. 91406, Phone      (818) 435-4744, Fax          (818) 435-4743.

I do not show a complaint with the BBB about Northern Lights.

They sent us packaging tape that we never ordered.

They told us that they would send us a catalog....
When we got a call back saying they would send us a "sample" of their work, we said, okay, go ahead.
Now, we got a box of cheap shipping tape, worth $20 RETAIL, and a bill of $425.20!!!
We are filing a compliant with the BBB Right NOW!

The "From" Address on our Fedex Label from our supposed order was from a "Ralph Cramden" (Yes, the TV Show Character!) at 4912 Swinton Ave, Encino CA 91436.
While their website says they've opened up two new "warehouse facilities", this is a house.

Supposedly, this man has been ripping people off for years--he's been in trouble with the law several times, as others have posted here.

Well, our story reads like everyone elses.  We received a box of shipping tape that no one ever ordered.  I called them and the employee told me that he would call me back later today or tomorrow since their computer server was down.  I then went to their website and filled out an e-mail "Contact Us" form.  Although I know it's pointless, I thought I would give it the "old college try."  

Everyone involved in these type of scams needs to remember that one day you will be held accountable for your actions on judgement day.  Avert having your feet in the fire for eternity by 'fessing up your wrong doing and make things right!

Yes Sue-this guy should be in jail. And will be soon enough. The Swinton address is his home address where his "storage facility" is". David Bell is the crook behind this scam and subjects innocent people to his lawless behavior. God bless you Sue.

you are correct I no longer work for the company I was just doing my job,  They are sneaky is how much they tell the employee.  Like how much they pay for a box of the tape,  I later found out the rediculous mark up and how they go out the original sale as well as a re-order slam it out there sale!  So sorry for your experience.  Please clear my name from all the correspondence I was never responsible for the policies of the company or the collection proceedures, agian I was just following orders and doing my job.

Just refuse to pay them. Bob won't do anything. He has no way of reporting you to a credit agency of any kind. He has his employees threaten people that they will do that, but they don't. Also, file a complaint with the BBB. Every time they call to harass you, tell them if they want their tape, send you a prepaid mailing label and you will be happy to return it to them along with the giftcard.... otherwise, the tape will be discarded after 30 days. Don't take no for an answer, and don't get angry on the phone. Just say it plainly, if they reply properly, ok. If not, say it plainly again, politely, and end the call nicely. They will either send the label, or write off the tape.

They are Delta shipping supplies.  They call up and act like they are your regular supplier with a promotion.  They send out 8 dozen rolls of this clear tape that is so cheesy it has ripples and bubbles all through it.  They are small rolls too.  Then they charge you 4.75 a roll!!!!  The Invoice is $499.66 for tape that isn't even worth .99 cents a roll!  We get better tape from Uine for 1.85 a roll. There is only one phone # on the invoice which is suppose to be customer service.  It's not.  It's a machine.  You leave your name and number and nobody ever calls you back.  The invoice states you can not return the tape without authorization but you can't get authorization because there isn't a number you can call that actually gets answered.  There isn't even a business listing anywhere for this company.  The Federal ID # is fake too.  These guys are crooks plain and simple.

DAVID BELL....is now running a business under a DIFFERENT NAME, It is now called Northern Lights Mfg.in Van Nuys, CA (he was ALLSTATE SHIPPING SUPPLIES in Tarzana, CA previously)  It is the same scam under a different name.  They offer you a Starbucks Gift card, "good for you and a friend", (it's only $5.00), and then mention something about trying to keep their prices at last year's price, so "I think I'll also send you a box of tape".  One of their last questions is..."should I mark the tape's invoice with a purchase order number, or will verbal be ok?".   No mention of what you're getting, other than 2" clear tape, the brand, the quantity, shipping charges, etc.  BEWARE PEOPLE....the gift card is the hook.  You wind up getting 36 rolls of substandard tape.  If you ask a question about what you'll be receiving, or any question at all, they abruptly hang up on you.  BUY YOUR TAPE FROM REPUTABLE SOURCES, NOT TELEMARKETERS.

I worked for david bell, and I quit because this man will screw his own mother,. He started to bounce checks on people we fired, and then wont take calls from them, and then he started to bounce my payroll checks, we made over 30k in two months, yet this man spent that and more,. on what? dont know, he likes to make his friends and loved ones think he has lots of money, but he doesnt, he lives off his wife, and dying father in law, which has cancer, he took out an american express card out, with his dying father in law's name,..he has burned bridges with all tape suppliers also,. he owes money all over town,.. he even bounced a check on the leasing office where his business is located,. this man is also a major racist,. we never hired blacks,.because they where "black". This man should beware because karma is very real, and if any body wants my help to take this man to court reply to this post with your e-mail address,. and ask me anything, there are never any real orders, and I just want to air his a$$ out, for being a dirty human being that has no respect for anybody!
