- Caroline SutherlandThey sound like a broken record and will not identify the reason for their call
- Jennifer| 1 replyI find it interesting that it's from a hospital billing agency. I had surgery and got a call from them within a week wanting me to pay the bill in full. I ignored the call. I soon started payments directly to the hospital ($100 a month on a $2,000 bill).
In the meantime, I got a bill from my hospital and this organization on the same day. The hospital statement says that I owe $700 less than this organization says I owe. I talked to the hospital, and they claim that they have no knowledge of why my non-delinquent bill would have gone out to a bill collector.- Caller: Financial Corporation of America

- Just MeSend them a certified CEASE and DESIST letter. By law they must stop contacting you, even if you ARE the person they are calling for. You have the right to sue for each violation that subsequently occurs. Also continue to report these people to the Do Not Call list because these robocalls with no identified company name are illegal, not to mention that they don't provide a valid way for you to be removed from their list when they are calling the wrong number repeatedly. As another person suggested, I will pick up the phone and put the call on mute. Then I will press * and # constantly. It's not worth my time to argue with these morons.

- Susan replies to Pat| 2 repliesI got the same type call on 8/8/13 for my mother. They said they were Financial Corporation of America - debt collection. They gave me this 800-950-5762 number to call as well as an account #. I called but didn't get anywhere to talk to anyone. Sounds like a scam to me too.....my mom has no outstanding bills.....she is very old and I handle all her financial affairs.

- Ed replies to DianneGet an attorney and sue them, they are in violation of the law; file a police report (sometimes it works), file a complaint with your state attoney general. You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision but their web site is closed because of the government shut down.
- Ed replies to JenniferSounds like someone is lying and doing fraud. need to contact your attorney general of your state.
- Ed replies to Janeyou need to report them to your attorney general and I don't think they will look at these postings and if you report them to the Federal trade commission wait till they reopen or send them a letter because they are closed because of the government shut down. or get an attorney and sue them after you sent them a certified letter telling them to stop calling you.
- Ed replies to Susan| 1 replyyou need to report them to the federal trade commission www.ftc.gov and file a complaint if they keep calling you that's harassment, you might want to seek legal advise because in most cases it is against the law for them to tell a third party about a persons debt. If they tell a third party the person they are talking about can sue them in court $1,000.00 for each offense. Also if they keep calling you and ask for someone else and start telling you about their debt that is against the law as well and when they make random calls for someone they are fishing meaning they are trying to a hit and miss approach which sometimes work. Also when you talk to a collection agency they are not allowed to sue you, only the orginal creditor can and they can not threaten to sue you or tell you that you are going to be arrested or that your wages are going to be garnished that is against the law as well. Always ask for a copy of the contract sent to be sent to you by mail with your signature on it and ask them for a copy of the complete written accounting record showing who the account was handle by and if was transferred or sold to a different company, because what happens is the orginal creditor sells the account but keeps they orginal contract and when they sell it your account is paid in full by they company who buys it usally a collection firm and they do not have access to the orginal contract only the account and when they ask you to pay that's fraud because it has already been paid for by the third party company, and chances of the third pary company sending you the contract and the accounting record most of the time never happens because they do not have access to it.
