the number 1 800 959 8281. has been calling me for the last week and told me I was going to go to jail if I didn't pay what I owed.. which is funny as I owe them nothing. becareful people this is a SCAM. do not give them any info. amd check your computer as well cause I;ve also gotten tracker cookies from an unknown sourse

I got a phone call from this number but no message.  When I dialed what appeared on my phone, it was CRA.  However, feeling suspicious, I checked My Account to see if there was a reason I would be getting a call.  There was nothing.  Very sneaky to use a legit number as a decoy and then leave a different number for call back.  BEWARE!

Showed up on caller I'd as Canada revenue agency, answered the phone and it was an automated recording saying that I would be arrested for tax fraud. It's a scam, the government will not call and say that you have to pay that they will arrest you. Number they called from was 18009598281

Canada Revenue Agency will NEVER call you unless you have arranged for them too. They will always contact you with a letter through the mail.

I got a call from this number twice and the second time I ignored it, they left a voice message saying "final reminder to connect with official(didn't understand) resolve cash deathing(didn't quite understand well) avoid additional penalties and subsequential wrath(also did not get the word they were saying), to connect call immediately press 1". It sounded like a robocall and did my best to understand what some of the words were.

I just got a call recently from this number but BE WARE THERE ARE OTHER NUMBERS TOO!! 800-387-1193 both of these numbers were under the name XT
The number ending in 1193 called me 3 times on Friday and then today with this number I reported. All times they called, never left any messages

On call display, 800-959-8281 pops up. The correct CRA number will ALWAYS pop up as 1-800-959-8281.  If there is no "1" in front, be suspicious.  Now for the hilarious part, hopefully we all know the CRA runs like any other business...like CLOCKWORK. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. I get this "800-959-8281" number calling me @ 5:45 p.m.  XD  So I don't answer, I wait a minute, then call them back by redialing exactly "800-959-8281". Outcome, obviously, "The number cannot be completed as dialed". The lacking toll free "1" is the dead give away. Don't answer and don't attempt to call the real CRA by dialing "1" in front. CRA sends letters stating what you owe and why. Then you call them back. They don't call you because there is never a guarantee that you haven't switched phone numbers or lost your phone and been forced to get a new number. So the CRA does what they know (hope) remains certain...your last known address. Letters folks, not phone calls unless you called first and told them to call you back.

Canada Revenue Agency **SCAM** Caller identified as an officer and gave me a badge number 417J2741.  Highly amusing.  Please keep throwing these guys in jail!!! Im tired of their calls.

All those people who say the CRA doesn't call. I can't say anything for those scammers, but the legit CRA folks will call you (Looking at those collections people who work very hard for our country and have to tolerate disrespectful folks), especially after sending letters to which people do not/won't answer. It doesn't make any sense to send letters to someone who doesn't care about replying to them so people need to educate themselves so we all know that CRA calls. Inform yourselves folks! Do not fall to the usual aggressive scams and go on the CRA website to get more info! Happy holidays! :D

This number 800-959-8281 is a SCAM to try to elicit your personal data to scam you.  Ignore and block.  CRA does it's business through the mail.
