- AlexandriaSomeone keeps on calling me from 18009838472 saying that is from TD Bank -Visa
I called TD Bank Visa and apparently they didn’t call me at any time. I think this is a scam even if it is a TD real phone number. The scammers are using TD phone number. Be careful!- Caller: TD Bank

- Kat* replies to Diane| 1 replyIf this *number* (not *no*) appears on the back of your Visa, why are you here? You already know to whom it belongs so there's no logical reason to look it up.

- Grace| 1 replythey left a message and claimed this is from TD. I search, it is TD number and I called, but I search the web as well and found this site...I believe it is fake too! Hang up and blocked the number

- MikeHuntleton replies to GracePerhaps if you mentioned what your caller said, it might make the difference in knowing if it was a scammer spoofing the number and impersonating them or a real call about a chipped card.
Not sure what search engine you used, but I found it to be a real TD number.

Interesting that for 12 years every post simply tells that they got a call about a card, but no one has told what they were actually calling for, just a bunch of opinions and speculation about it being a scam. Never mentioning why the caller called about the cards. - M replies to SEVER POPESCUMe too
- MMe too
- Changostraw| 3 repliesThis was a confirmed scammer. They told me they were calling about fraudulent charges on my card and tried to get more information about my accounts - probably for identity theft. I refused to give them information and he told me to Google the phone number and it was a td number. But I still didn’t want to give out information and he got angry and threatened to approve the fraudulent charges if I didn’t give him the information - that is when I knew it was a scam. I called td after and they confirmed it wasn’t a real call from them. They said that people have the ability to “clone” phone numbers and make it look like they are calling from that number when they are in fact not. So you can’t rely on checking the number. A good way to confirm that it is a scammer is to say that you don’t feel comfortable and that you would like to hang up and call them back. A real td employee will be fine with this, while a scammer will pressure you to stay on the phone.
- Tygerkat replies to Changostraw| 1 replyThey want your money, not your information.
And it's called "spoofing". Phone numbers aren't alive so they can't be "cloned". - SICK OF SCAMMERS!I get several call from this number and other "spoofed" TD number. They want you to give your personal information - this includes the number on your credit/debit card, expiry date and CVV.
HANG UP- Caller: 800-983-8472
- Jake| 1 replyScammers, these people have been trying to phone me for months. It is a pretty sophisticated scam, stay alert and don't fall for it or give them any information.
- Tygerkat replies to JakeIt's such a "pretty sophisticated scam" you couldn't be bothered to tell us what the scam actually is?
- BobI got a call from this number claiming to be TD Fraud Protection. They asked to verify some bogus transaction. I said I would call them back...I hung up and called the same number back, but this time it was the real TD Credit Card Services and they said they weren't trying to contact me for anything. TD doesn't call you to verify purchases, they text you a code or they put a block on your card. It is up to you to call them. It was a spoofed number that displayed on my phone. Total scam.
