They call andl leave a message stating they are calling for a specific person, tell me if its not me to stop listening and hang up...NO PROBLEM.  I delete message and go on with my life...and what do ya know...alllllllll week long once a day calls.  I DID WHAT YOU SAID, I IGNORED THE CALL...LEAVE ME ALONe.  For the love of GOD!!!!!!  Although it may help if they would take it off speaker phone and realize they are talking to a message.  Who ever hired them to see to their debt collection isnt very smart either...this company isnt very thorough and is creating bad publicity.

I just got my first phone call today from URG. They informed me of a credit card debt from 2005, of which I became skeptical and began to ask LOTS of questions which made the man become VERY offensive.  
They said they sent me a letter about 6 weeks ago, and that I didn't reply.  I swear I keep everything, and I don't recall seeing this "bill" from 2005.  So it's a Friday afternoon, 5pm locally, on a holiday weekend (Monday, Veterans Day) and they DEMAND I pay over $1100 within the next 58 minutes before they close, or I will be served papers by a "processor" Monday.  They asked if I would be home to accept the papers.  My husband has Stage IV Liver metastatic cancer and is currently undergoing treatments twice a day, every day, Mon-Friday, so needless to say he's not working.  We leave home at 0530am daily and get home at 330pm, so I told them, no that we would not be home.  He told me they would garnish my wages, freeze my bank account, seize the lein on my home(?), and if I had vehicle payments that came automatically out of my checking account that they could stop those payments as well. WTH?  I was accused of stalling and hem-hauling and trying to get out of paying my bill only because I was skeptical and asking intelligent questions.  I automatically thought this was a scam so  I immediately pulled up my credit report from three agencies while I was on the phone with him, and I did not see anything about what they were referring to, and I told him that.  He acted like I was an idiot, like I could not read.  I have a college degree, please.  When I told him that I needed to call my attorney, he said, "Oh, get over yourself, you don't have any attorney.  You just don't want to pay your bills!"  LOL, I'm a federal government employee whose office has hundreds of attorneys in our legal department.  Our local attorney is even a U.S. House Representative.  It will be Tuesday before I'm able to reach them, but I didn't pay the bill tonight.  I refuse to be intimidated with scare tactics and treated like low-life.

You Should reach out to Joshua Trigsted attorney at law. He sues Collection Agencies for breaking the law. A collection agency cannot threaten to sue you, serve you papers, garnish your wages etc. unless they are already int he process of doing so. His telephone number is 888-595-9111 - make them pay you and get rid of your debt instead of paying them. They are consequences for breaking federal collection laws. Record all calls and keep all written notices. Go Get Them!

Unbelieveable.....The guy I that called me at work yesterday said the EXACT ame thing to me that I read in your comment VERBATIM. It was like hearing that phone conversation all over again. I too never received a letter but he called it a 'summons'. The only difference is that I got called at work, he was nasty & rude as hell. Oh not to mention he said they were a law firm. Which I am discovering now is a LIE!! He told me that they would put a lien on my Jeep and whenever I made a payment it would be automatically diverted to them and my Jeep would be getting repo'd in 90 days. Mind you at the same time I am texting my dad & he was he is full of crap they can't do that only the feds can if you owe back taxes. They are the only ones that can take everything you own. Needless to say after that call, I called my attorney which I keep on retainer at all times because it's the smart thing to do & I am meeeting with him this morning. Oh and FYI I do not thnk they are in Utah anymore because they sent a settlement letter via email which I needed as evidence to take to my attorney and their address is 3045 Archibald Ave Ste 11132 Ontario, CA 91761 Phone # 888-556-4580.

URG has been calling my work place everyday pertaining to me, while my coworker answered them. First call, the unknown caller told her he needs to speak to my supervisor regarding re-routing a court date for me.  Luckily my supervisor was not around. My co-worker was able to get the number 888-997-1018. i bet they have changed their number since there are lot of complains against them...rudeness, unprofessional...etc. the next day, another call from them asking for me and since my coworker told them I am not at work, he asked to be transferred to the Human Resource Department. I told my coworker to hang up.  THIS IS HARRASSMENT! Today, a lady called twice asking for a supervisor pertaining to me. The second time they call I answered the phone to see who these [***] are, she said she was hired by URG as a processor.  I told her to her to call "her" home number instead of harrassing that person at work.  I even told her she will be reported to the Better Business Bureau for harrassing people at work especially in a hospital envoronment. This lady's name is Megan Martinez. Hey Megan, or any of the "URG Collectors", why don't you guys do the reverse psychology, instead of harrassing them, be nice.. and you will be surprise that you can convince them to pay their debts.... IDIOTS!!!! DAMN as well!!!!!!! lol

They now call from 855-264-9992. Same abusive and threatening message, only now leaving it other peoples' voice mail as well as my own. Bogus case number, threats of being "served with paperwork", mumbling about a private investigator "trying to get a message to me", etc. Called and told them the State of Maine AG's office has told them twice in two years to cease and desist, but they don't want to hear it.

For your own protection, go to IC3.gov and file a complaint. They stole/bought the numbers they call from payday loan companies for the most part. They are violating both the TPA and the FDCPA, and only federal complaints will shut them down as the UT state AG doesn't seem inclined to do. The OH state AG did, and I got a settlement from that action against them, put they just keep popping up somewhere else. Until federal fraud prosecution comes down on them they'll keep trying to scare people into giving them money.

Now they block their caller ID, and give you a call back number, usually an 855 number. Same bad behavior, same ignoring TPA/FDCPA rules, same failure to produce documentation. I have turned them in to ic3.gov, and will now file with UT's state AG office as well.

My wife is getting called by this company because her sister fell ill and could not finish paying a very small portion of a bill and and hahaving family full of officers I assure you the conversation my wife taped was completely illegal and threatening. U R G tried to triple the balace and said she was having police come get her sister. Also called multiple people after being asked not to.

So this company decided to start harassing me and my loved ones. These people had better WATCH OUT! Closing down your website urglifve.com and disconnecting the 801-542-8210/888 498-9446 numbers, weak buddy. Guess what? Some of are more intelligent and skilled than you and have ways of making YOU pay. This company has no qualms about breaking the law. Perhaps I'm just the same low-life scum you accuse other innocent people of being over the phone, although I would argue you are the low life scum. Assuming that your crappy business hasn't just folded, or even if it has I WILL FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE AND MAKE YOU REGRET EVER MESSING WITH ME! Lawsuits are just the beginning, and trust me they will be coming Mr. J Defree. Defend yourself against creeps like this -- know your rights.

There are more search engines than just Google, and other ways of tracking someone down. I guess you know all about that? You'd be surprised what someone properly motivated can discover using just Google. All of the info I have posted here has come from a quick 5 minute search on Google.

I need to do some more research but trust me. I will be following up. I will discover more about you and let everyone know what I find.
