- jayko23For those saying scam this scam that , I took the time to talk to the guy and it was eBay calling me to ask me if I have listed the new iphone 5s for sale . Apparently since there's been so much scam lately , they want to make sure the listings for high value items they see are legit. He did gave me a tip for next time to add a feature on the listing to improve the listing.

- mattgyver replies to noodlz| 3 repliesIts a scam , i went onto my ebay account and got customer service number and called Ebay , and they confirm they never called me and that number is not affiliated with them. So anyone stating its not a scam is ignorant or one of the scammers. Just call Ebay and ask em people its that easy.
- Ray carr replies to KateI called Ebay to increase the number of listings as they said I had exceeded the number for a month. I called them and the wait time was about 45 minutes! So, I had them call me back. They had my number on file. They called me back at the number we're discussing 8015451800, but I didn't answer it thinking it was a telemarketer. I Googled the number and came upon this blog. I realized I missed my call. So, I have to call them back as I need to make more $ through more listing. Legit in my case. raycarr66 is my Ebay name.
- I_Sell_PursesI received a missed call from this number yesterday. At the very moment that I was reading this page the same # called again! No name, # only. Out of sheer freaky curiosity, I answered. This # is 100% LEGIT and the calls are coming from EBAY. Annalee was the girl's name, and she was calling from Seller Resources. I flat out told her that I was researching the # at that very moment. She gave me several LEGIT ebay web pages to visit, which all began with ebay.com as they should. I threw her several curves that a scammer wouldn't have been able to dig out of. This is their "generic" outgoing call #. Most large businesses have a single outgoing # for their call centers. That's why there are reports of the calls coming from different departments within ebay.

- KatI received a call from this number. I did not answer the phone. No message was left. I am NOT a seller on ebay.

- EricLegit call from StubHub regarding a fraudulent ticket purchase made on my account. Did not ask for any account details such as password and they were able to reverse the charges on the card without the card number needed (did not give them cc#)
Ebay owns StubHub thus the # of callers who had received ebay related inquiries.- Caller: StubHub

- bonzadealsThis is BOTH legit AND a scam.
I've received legit calls from eBay, but I've also received calls from this number where they were fishing for information (asked my user name, my full name, etc).
Hullo people... scammers can 'fake' the number they are calling from, and make it look like they're calling from a legit number.
If they give info but don't ask for any, then it's likely legit. If they are asking for info, DON'T GIVE IT!- Caller: eBay

- DNXThe caller who left a message was the same ebay customer support person I spoke with previously when I called about a technical problem on the website. So, for my call at least, it was not a fraudulent or marketing call. I'm neither a powerseller nor have a store on ebay, just an occasional buyer/seller.
- Caller: ebay
- VaporHazeI received a call from this number today, and moments after NOT answering the call from UTAH on my mobile phone in Canada, A listing I had on ebay was pulled and I got a message from ebay. SO.... Could be legit ebay number calling to give me hell for breaking their listing policy.

- JimI received a call from this number and missed it. I called it back and got a recording from Ebay, stating it was for promotional services and how to go to my ebay and click preferences, then uncheck the check mark for calls or something like that. 10/11/13

- John QFor those who say the phone number is eBay, why are you googleing it if they have called you before?
- Caller: claimed to be eBay
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jazzydorit's something to do with eBay, the girl left a message, read a spiel about selling something on eBay and getting a voucher instead of payment, thus avoiding eBay fees. I received an email prior to the phone calls. so it's legit

- moltres_ridersince there are mixed reviews on this page... I called eBay customer support 1-877-322-9081 number and asked to hear it straight from the horse's mouth and the representative said it is a number from them and it is indeed a eBay branch number

- bret0nsenecaThis is a legitimate number from Ebay. I agree, there are too many paranoid people out there. I am a silver power seller on Ebay and I do about 100k in sales a year. When you start getting to the point when paypal and ebay have to send you what is equivalent to w-2's for your taxes, then yeah, they want you to keep selling, and one of the ways they do this is good communication. There is a point you get to as a seller on ebay where, instead of sending them emails if you have issues, they just give you a number to call. (good customer service for their bigger sellers I guess) This gets problems resolved a whole lot faster too. This is their number. They call me all the time (1-2 times a month if nothing going on, more if I have problems). If it not promotional, it's something else. There are many reasons they call me, so I actually just have their number programmed into my hone at this point. Lose your paranoia people.
