They keep calling and hanging up!!

KEEPS CALLING

THEY CALLED ME AND THEY KNEW MY NAME SO I TOLD IT WASNT ME AND I WAS AT SCHOOL WHEN THEY CALLED AND THEY SAID "HEY IS THIS RYAN?" AND I SAID YES AND THEY SAID WE R CALLING ABOUT ONLINE COLLEGE CLASSES AND IM ONLY 13!!!

This number has called my cellphone several times this week....Every time I would answer they would hang up immediately.....Today they called asking for my mother by her first name and claiming to be from a career institute.....Not only this, I have received numerous phone calls from 2 other numbers in the middle of the night!!!!! It is rediculous.......

This # called me as well. I didn't answer but I am glad that I found out about it. So the next time they call they will get a piece of my mind!

Indeed, I answered and the young fellow told me that I had filled out some career information form on line, but hadn't completed it.  Before I could interrupt, he continued into a line about my wanting to finish or obtain some degree.

I told him that I was happy with my legitimately obtained Ph.D. in physics and was certainly NOT in need of a bogus degree.

It is a newer cell phone number for me, so I listed my new number with https://www.donotcall.gov/ .  That is one government program I think most of us can agree upon.  

It takes 30 days for the "Do not call" deal to take effect.  Another call from that blasted number came in this afternoon.  15 days to go before I report this number.  (May these people find eternal rest in a place of never ending buzzes, rings, and bad cell phone ditties.)

One of several things is happening.
1) WE all may have something in common like posting our numbers on the web.
2) some one from this site could be behind the calls. if they have your phone number but no name, they then have your name when you post on this site, thus they can publish your name and number on a trace site that they might own.  (ONLY a Thought)

Solution:
look in your phone book. ost of the time there is a number you can dial right after a phone call that goes to your local P.D. Or phone Company for harrassing phone call. that's what I did.
the more call they make the better it is to prosicute them.

I have been FREQUENTLY getting phone calls from this number (UTAH) as well as 954-839-6428 (FLORIDA). SAME COMPANY! Also from 000-012-3456 no state. I picked up the 000# and they said I had recently requested information about college or taking ONLINE CLASSES. I AM ALREADY IN COLLEGE AND ALMOST DONE! I said no I had not. She asked if I might be interested and I said NO. She stuttered and didn't know what to say and then said thank you, and hung up. They will NOT stop calling. I have just started calling them back and *67 my number, dont even know if that works, but then haning up on them. I also have seen this number as: 801-642-02401 so you cannot call it back. I have sprint, how do I block these numbers? And if I dont answer, they call back from a different number. I have to pick up because I use this for my clients from school, and they are always unknown numbers. ANY suggestions? Sprints block number???

My boyfriend placed my number on the "do not call" list MONTHS ago, and since then it has gotten WORSE! dont think thats the answer

I think that another company gave this number my number all because I said I was interested in Education I didn't know they would be having people call me and harass me it gets tiring.

Getting calls for college,grants,survey.Info from caller say it came from
online inquiry. They can not and do not give out info who they are
names,numbers,company I asked about what ip it came from, they say it was mine and gave this number only 801-642-0241

They called saying I had requested info on the internet about taking courses online from the Career Institute. Nathan got nervous when I asked questions and gave the phone to someone else. She gave me the "phony" email address I supposedly used to sign up and told me to call customer service at 801-642-0241 which noone answers.

I got a call from 410 774 8401 saying i filled out a survey... i said that wasn't me and he kept going on. I said who gave this info out it wasn't me. He said i could call 801 642 0241 to get IP address and time... WTF?

Said his name was Nathan from the Career Institute

I received several calls from 'Nathan'.  I actually had requested information about classes though so it did not seem strange to be getting this call in the beginning.  However, the questions that he asked, he did not appear to be documenting.  Let me explain:  I spent 10 minutes telling him what courses I would be interested in.  When he kept talking in circles, I ended up getting a little annoyed and he said he would call back at a more convenient time and hung up.  Then, he called back and could not recite anything that I had told him!  I called him on it and as another person noted, he became flustered and said that this was obviously not working (what does that mean?  Whatever scam he has going?) and tried to ask me more questions about whether I own a house, etc.  I asked him if there was a website I could go if I were interested and he again said that this was obviously not working and hung up.  Not before asking AGAIN though if I was still interested in going back to school.  This is pretty nuts. Helps to know it's not just me though.
