Last year (Feb. 09) I signed up for Angela's money-making opportunity.  Not long afterwards, I got a call from someone with Tafiti - somehow they got my information from Angela.  Tafiti did help me build my website - but I never mind one cent through them. I am not computer savvy - but I knew enough with instructions how to build my website.  But the coaching and information I received did not help me make any money.  Is there any way we could file a lawsuit on these people?  If enough people were "scammed" - shouldn't we be able to do something about it?
My email address is cletare@aol.com if anyone reads this & has any ideas.

I signed up with Tafiti in February of 2009.  I did get my website built, but have not made a penny!  I've called because they promised to help coach you until you at least got your investment back, but to no avail.  I also keep getting calls from "sister companies" offering me assistance with marketing, etc, for hefty fees.  I signed up with the company and WAISTED over $3,000.  My total investment thus far has been about $6,000, and I have not made 1 penny!  If this is a scam, something really ought to be done!

Nicole - I totally agree with you - but I don't know what we can do.  Does anyone out there know how to end these scams & keep these companies from doing business and hurting consumers like us?

Think about how absurd you sound stating all old people should die.  How are you defined by age?  Or is that just to deep for you to wrap your head around.

Thank you all for your for posts. I have been reasearching for info on this (possible) scam. With your info, I have probably dodged a bullet. The Ridgecrest Consulting Company (possibly only a front) is very aggressive and because I was actually looking for oppotunities, I was "lead" into several conversations, each increasing in the pressure to give up my credit card info. I nearly did, but but I finally found this site and felt it my duty to thank you all.
I encourage all wh have not been to this site for this particular company/scam to read every post, as each will offer various pieces of info, the big picture being ...

I went on the web to find email support, because I felt that someone was using a spy device on my computer. I put in the imformation for who I thought was a tech to call me back, which he did. He had me to push a button and he was able to go in my computer and pull things up, he said that I had alot of programs on my computer that should not be there and he felt that some one could be spying.  He said that it would take a tech about 4-6 hours to correct.  He also said that he needed my email password which i gave it to him.  Then he told me that it would be a cost.  I told him that the web said that it was free. He show me a web page from my computer that said that the cost would be 200.00 and he then asked for the 3-digit code on the back of my credit card I asked him why he needed it,,he sssaid to cover the cost of the repair, I tol him that I didn't have 200.00 when he could not talk me into giving the money, he hung up.  the number he called from was efixnow 801 676-8330.

You need to take action immediately.  With your email password, the scammer can use your email for any purpose he wants to use it for.  Obvious ones include sending email and spam using your account, where you will be the one blamed by your provider for spamming.  You need to at least change your email password immediately to prevent this from getting out of hand, if it hasn't already.

Also, depending on how you access your email, the scammer may already have accessed your calendar, notes, emails in your inbox, addresses and other information in your address book, and even old email messages that you deleted but did not yet purge.  Thus, the scammer may have all sorts of personal information about you that can be used to steal your identity, possibly access your bank accounts or even obtain your social security number, or cause misery to your friends.

I follow a general rule.  Unless I KNOW who I am talking to and FULLY trust them, AND fully understand the reason they need this information, I, personally, NEVER give out passwords to ANY of my accounts, except, perhaps, if you are making out a will.  Even then, if I have any doubt AT ALL, I error on the side of caution, because the consequences of making a mistake and having the information fall into the wrong hands is so dire.

I had 3 calls from this number in 5 minutes.  I do not answer calls from "unknown number" so I did not answer - my recorder picked up the calls and they did not leave a message.  My number is on the Do Not Call List, so I have no idea how they got my number.  The whole world has gone crazy - no one wants to work, they just want to scam you and steal your money.  I have had this happen too many times!

You clearly have no idea how the Do Not Call list works.  Being on the list cannot in any way prevent anyone from obtaining your number from any number of sources.  In addition, a lot of telemarketing call centers do not even work from a list of numbers, they simply call all numbers in sequence hoping someone will answer to give their pitch to.  Honest business that have registered with the FTC for access to the DNC list do use that list to avoid calling number who have indicated they do not wish to receive sales calls but that is the extent of the protection you receive by registering as that is how the law was crafted to work.
