Got the call from 801-943-0000 showed up on caller id as Salt Lake City.  Left a recorded message about how to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming election.  Was calling on behalf of the State Education Association (my wife is a teacher)

At least they left a message instead of the usual hangups that we have been receiving from other numbers

Recieved a call (Missed call) from them last night (10-13-08), no message left.  Just revieved a call from 000-000-0000. I answered, no one there.

They leave no message.  The caller ID states that the number is from Holladay, UT.  This caller has called on our office phone as well as our home phone.

Called around 8:43PM Central here in TN.  Also called back and got out of service message.

Has called twice, within 30 minutes, but does not leave message.  I would like for these calls to stop.  I am on a Nationwide do not call list.

We also were called and then hung up on a few times yesterday and today.  The same number came up and when we called it back we got a disconnected message.  Any ideas about who we contact to find out what's going on?

Web site after Web site of reported numbers, harassing folks, scammers,
phishers. You would think our phone co. that we pay to have service
would  protect the consumer. There was a day way back this kind of
crap didnt happen and the phone co. would help. I logged 340 crap calls
from oct 2007 to oct 2008 and im on the do not call list. Something has
to be done

This caller called me four times yesterday at about an hor apart from 5:45 to 8:33. Did not answer.No messages

I get the same thing.  Caller hangs up after a few seconds after we answer with "hello," but the caller never responds.  Just silence.  Very annoying.

Caller ID only shows Holladay, UT. Search on 411.com & whitepages.com say only that it is a landline from Qwest. When I called it on my cell, I got a message that the number was disconnected/out of service. When called from my landline, the greeting says: "Welcome to Triple A (AAA Motor Club). Please enter your account number or 10-digit telephone number." We had to let our AAA membership expire in May due to job cuts/lack of funds, so I assume they are trying to get us to sign back up .

I agree with those who say that these calls are annoying.  They have called at least twice a day every day this week.

Seriously.  They called here three times today, and asked for my boyfriend by name.  I asked who was calling and he said his name was Matt calling from the state educational association.  My boyfriend is a teacher, this is plausible.  When I asked him why he never leaves a message...he hung up.  Matt, you are a putz.  Anyway.  About 15 minutes before this we got a call from 000-000-0000, and there was nobody on this line.  They've also called before.

Answered the call. It was the American Red Cross asking for donations from past supporters (I donated to Red Cross about three years ago and I'm a frequent blood donor).
