Received a call from Hopewell, Va.  Ans machine kicked on and no message.  I had got repeated calls from this same number some months back.

I get calls from this number before 8:30am about twice a week. I am in VA but far from where the 804 extension begins and ends and it also shows as local call.  I fear being on the DNC list doesn't help us because I think charities and political calls are exempt from that. The other problem I have with this professional fundraising organization is that they seem to have multiple banks of phones that allows them to keep calling from many different numbers.

Has called several times within the last few weeks of November 2008.  My caller ID has "LOCAL CALL", then gives out the number the call is made from as:  1-804-415-6039.  The caller never leaves a message.

Fraternal Order of Police -- I think it is a scam

received calls numerous times from this number and they never leave a message.  Caller ID shows call is coming from Hopewell, VA.  I live in VA but not near Hopewell.  The caller never leaves a message on voice mail.

this whoever it is has called everyday sometimes twice a day, do not say anything ask for the wrong person they also use other numbers close to this one like yesturday it was 8044156839 so sick and tired i told them to stop harrassing me but they do not quit all hours of the day...Please get them off my back...

They just called and said that his name was William Brady.  The number came up as a local call.  I told them that the person they asked for was not here and could I take a message.  They just hung up in my face.

Two calls this week both at 8:30 a.m. local time and no voice messages.  (I didn't answer either.)    I'm sorry I don't have anything to add, but wanted to say I appreciate this site for the information it collects.

This caller continues to call at odd times of the day and night, NEVER leaves a message.  If there is anything that can be done to stop this, I would greatly appreciate it.

They call everyday around 8:00pm. It's driving me crazy. How do they get around the Do Not Call List???

Add me to the list.  They called here this morning.  I just picked up and hung up on them. I noticed with some of the other callers that if I tell them that they have called a business number that they usually apologize and hang up.

I live in VA.  I have not donated to VA FOP, through this supposed charity work, in over a year because of their harassing phone calls.  They call once a day, including weekends.  This last call was received at 8:00 am.  After advising me their office has not received my donation, I informed them I have not made any pledges to donate to them in a long time.  The caller advised it was my wife who made the pledge.  Interesting thought, my wife has been out of town for over a month caring for a sick relative.  Best advise, hang up on them.  I am a law enforcement officer and if you decide to donate to the FOP, give to your local chapter.  We need to shut this group down.  Threats of law suit for harassment are weak at best, even after keeping records of these annoying phone calls and informing the caller of your intent to sue.

Caller never leaves a message. Says Local call, but has an 804 area code. Fraternal Oder of Police is not actually anything to do with the police but a company that calls in there behalf for fund raising. They usually start out with, "this is officer(NOT)so and so" It is actually not an officer at all... they continue with "there is no problem or emergency,( we just want to Hawk our stuff)and they continue to sell you stuff for a donation. The fact that they pretend they are an officer is against the law. It's impersonating an officer. They also bring the stuff to your door which I don't like.
