Are you serious?   This message board does not go to the offender, it only lets you know that the calls are scams.   Did you read any of the others.

These people are actually using the DNC list to get the phone numbers they are calling.
More wasted tax dollars on a system that doesn't work properly.

Short educational post, suitable for people with short attention spans:

The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

Oh really? They registered their company with the FTC and were verified as a telemarketer, then paid the fees for the list of numbers of people who do not want to receive unsolicited sales calls just so they could call them?  I think your tin foil hat is slipping.

Usually I'm in front of a computer & I'll type in an unknown caller into google & that'll get me to a link (like this site) that tells me if legit or not. Didn't get a chance to do so just now and so I answered this number (usually I'll not even answer). No response to my one "hello?", so I hung up.

I was in a bad mood and decided to go ahead and answer. A recording first pops up then finally a live person. As soon as they got on they asked me for a 16 digit CC. I ignored that and went right into a Amway Sale speech. I said "Thank you for calling your local Amway sales representative, can I have your 16 digit CC?" They had the nerve to hang up on me!!

I think next time they call, I'll be a sales representative from Adam and Eve.com!!!

The DNC system is not perfect and will not stop scofflaws and criminals.  Law-abiding telemarketers adhere to the rules.  Frankly I'd rather have a DNC than not have one.

    Hi Slim,

Thank you so very much for the time and effort you contribute to 800Notes. Your research is good. Your advice is good. Your contributions are the best of net community involvement. Keep it up.
For the rest of us, No, the FED, FCC or FTC or what ever government agency is not conspiring with nor benefiting from the scam-spams. Yes, the federal government is ineffective to chasing these guys. Few are nabbed, and most go hide. The $$$$ (who knows how much in aggregate) is so defuse per capita  that there is no "stuck pig" group influential enough to pressure congressmen, senators, or regulatory agency. Besides, in comparison to ISAS, ebola, Ukraine, Palestine, and poverty in the USA, spam callers have a low priority. Still, I have have angry thoughts each time a jerk rings the phone, Call blocking (I use Digitone 10 on my wireline, it chokes them after they call once). Of course the spam callers change numbers, but for a while I get'em.
