Message stating the name as Brian Thompson from Jacobsen Matthews Law Firm to discuss a lawsuit filed and provided a file number.  Called back and they said they reached the wrong company.

The man calling identified himself as Brian Thompson for Jacobs and Matthews or Jacobson Matthews. He sounded in a hurry and intense. Asking for the owner of the company, regarding a law suit and gave me a case number. When I asked for details, he said he could only speak to the owner and then hung up on me. I called him back immediately asking who "Jacobs and Matthews" was and he hung up on me again without responding. Rude & disturbing.

The man calling called himself James Scofield from Jacobs and Matthews. The rest of the call was pretty much the same as the first two posts, but the new phone number he gave me was 1-813-341-0509

Call from 813-341-0516... Guy was rude and pushy asking for legal information. The jerk finally hung up when asked why he was calling.

Much the same as above, although the man identified himself as James Scofield and was polite, all the while trying to get an agreement from me to pay "a percentage settlement" before it would go to a judge (so he claimed). I mentioned that I'd not been served any papers & was told "some times papers are not served if an address is not available". I'm listed in both white & yellow pages!!

In fairness, the man never said he was with a law firm, but the tone and subject of the conversation was to get me to send him money. It was definately a "collections call". If it wasa8z7 a law firm it was never stated.

Jacobs and Matthews is NOT a law firm. They are a debt and tax resolution co.  Ask for a "bar" number next time they call.

This is clearly a scam and I am reporting it to FCC after this. Do not pick up! Do not share anything with this scammer. They also went as far as poisoning other forums with bogus user comments, lending them credibility! Dangerous!

Brian Thompson called from this number offering to help settle the matter with another firm.  In his message, he claimed they could save us money.  I called back an referred him to our attorney.  He called two more times.  He is very rude.  This is a collection service.  The matter I am involved in is not a collection case.  This is BOGUS!!!!

Two of these guys called our office at different times....different voices...same name "Brian Thompson" same # 813-341-0519. He was upset when I hung up on him already knowing he was not legitimate. He had the nerve to call back several times and leave an angry message. I am writing to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to investigate and stop the onslaught of these calls. I suggest if they call again, everyone tell them that you are reporting them to the FCC.

"Christopher" called today with the same message:  "I can save your company money regarding a litigation issue between your company and another major corporation. Call me back at 813-341-0516".  Sounded professional and serious.

Received a call from the 813-341-0509 number - now the guy's name is David Phillips - same story as everyone else.  I'm watching for the numbers and not answering.  Thanks everyone!

I received two calls from him (David Phillips) at one point I was going to call to find out what this was all about.  Now I'm glad I found this website.
Definitely sounds like a scam.

[***] called me up and asked for the owner of the company. I asked regarding what ? he said, " an impending lawsuit against your company." I said call my lawyer, he asked "You have an on staff law team? . I tried to give him the name of my lawyer and he hung up all mad and frustrated. KOO COO KOO COO

David Phillips called regarding a lawsuit we recently went through.  He wanted to offer a settlement at a substantial reduction.  We are currently in negotiations with the lawyer of the other firm and still have the possibility of appeal.  When I asked what company he was with, he kept giving me the name of the other firm in the lawsuit, I finally ask specifically, if he was with the other firm and he finally answered "No."  I asked what company he was with and he said I should recognize the name of the other firm.  I told him I do recognize the name of the firm, but I wanted to know what firm he was with... after asking 10 times, he finally said he was with Emerge 180.  When I looked this company up with the Florida Better Business Bureau, it shows an A+ rating.  It shows only one complaint and it shows it was rectified to the client's satisfaction.  Anyway, I don't think it's any more of a scam than any other debt collection service (I believe debt collection services are a form of organized crime, but that's another RANT!).  I won't be calling him back and he is CrAzY if he thinks he will get one cent from my company.

Wow!   I got a call from Helen Spicola from emerge180...  I thought that it sounded way too good to be true...   five minutes on the internet, and I have saved myself a whole lot of trouble!

This is a bunch a baloney. Helen called our company making promises. Read the docs she sends over, then make an educated decision. Does this sound too good to be true? It is.

We need to own up. Nothing is going to make our settlement problems 'go away'. You'll just exchange your problems.
