- DanReceived calls from 818-493-1971. First did not answer and no message was left. Second call was answered and person knew my personal information, name, address, zip code. This time the caller seemed more like a threat by saying something bad is going to happen to my computer. He wanted me to go on line do something with my computer. I refused and the call was terminated.
- LisaThis number has repeatedly called our home numerous times a day - I answered on Thanksgiving and waited to speak with them - they proceeded to tell me that my Dell computer had a virus and was going to shut down - they said they have been trying to reach me for 3 months- so really now that I answered my computer is in danger of shutting down?! too funny - I told them that I had family over and it was thanksgiving and they told me it was also thanksgiving for them - I ended up hanging up on them. Well they called back the next morning with the same junk - said they were calling from the computer technology department. I laughed at them and then told them I was going to report their number - they got quiet and told me they were going to report me! These scammers need to be stopped! they also said they were calling about my DELL computer - I don't have a dell - idiots
- Caller: They said they were IT tech regarding Dell computer system
- GalahadI have many missed calls from this number. I spoke to them the other day and they would not give me a number to confirm they were really from Windows XP as they claimed. They hung up. They called again yesterday and I told them not to call again. I just picked up the phone from the same number today and a computer voice said goodbye.
- Caller: a scam not really Windows
- Bob C.We have blocked this number (and many more!), but in the last few days this number has called numerous times (they show up in my CID log as a blocked call). These robo-calling machines is very persistent, you will not hear a live or canned voice until you trigger a vox (voice-operated switch). Frequently your out-going voice mail message will trigger the vox and a canned message will leave a partial message on your voice mail (how much you hear depends on the length of your out-going message. We never answer a call from a caller ID we do not know or recognize the number. Few of these "live" spam callers leave voice mails. If someone really wants us they can leave a message, then we can decide whether or not to return the call. We also have blocked all CIDs with "out of area," "Unknown...," or "Private Caller," etc., if they do not transmit their number. I am sure this will upset some of our friends who have unlisted numbers, but if they do not identify themselves - sorry. The joys of modern technology used to get folks upset. It matters not to them if you are on a 'Do Not Call List" so don't blame the government. Also many, if not most, are spoof numbers and do not identify the location from where the call originates from, which frequently is off-shore. By spoofing the number is not traceable. This particular number appears to belong to a group of "black-hat hackers" who are trying to get into your computer the easy way - with your permission - and practice identity theft. Be wary and practice safe computing!
- karen replies to JoanneIt was from India/Pakistan asking about your Microsoft computer. I lied and told the caller I work for the FBI.
- NicoleBeen receiving multiple calls a day from this number. Today I picked up. A man with a heavy Indian accent asked if I am the person handling my home's gas bill. He then went on to try to sign me up for a fixed rate plan for my gas bill and electric. I kept asking him if he was from either of these companies. At first he said yes but eventually said it was another company. I told him to remove me from his phone list. I am not interested. Then I hung up. I'm pretty sure this is not an up-and-up telemarketer and doesn't care about Do Not Call Lists. Definitely reeks of scam artists.
- Caller: Gas and Enery Company
- Call type: Telemarketer
- FreddoI asked the caller if he'd ever been Karmically [***] slapped by a six armed goddess......after three seconds of silence I yelled "I'll take that as a No!!!" and hung up. I love Indian call centers.

- LisaThis Indian Microsoft man is really getting under my skin. Have received numerous calls -he won't quit. I do enjoy making him angry. I let him ramble then tell him I know this is a scam. I have hung up on him and a few days later he calls back. He does have a great deal of perseverance. One of the calls he told me they were going to shut my computer down in 24 hours. He just told me all computers in our area are having problems. Not sure what problems because I cannot understand him. I am pretty sure I am going to have a really loud whistle handy for the next call. Maybe he will get the message.
- TimThis is a Scam. "Windows reported an error"

- Milly BrownI am continually getting calls from this number and when I answer a recorded voice says "good bye."

Hope people don't fall for this crap. We are elderly but NOT stupid
- JamesWife has received a few of these calls, one obscene, one simply dense. Both with a heavy accent and talking idiocy about windows machines and support. Also wanted to confirm zip code (which he had correct) and she declined to give.
at this point, after the next call, we will do *57 and open a case with law enforcement

- ToriThey called twice trying to convince my husband that they can save him money on our Dominion electric bill. He said we were located in Chicago. Umm no! It's under my name not my husbands... And we don't even live close to Chicago! SCAM!! He had a middle eastern accident as well. Beware!
- New JerseyCalled over 40 times the past month, up to 7 times in one day. (Yes I got THAT annoyed that I tallied the calls.) Sometimes it is a computer sounding message that says "goodbye" one time a male answered asking if someone by my last name was available. I asked what they were calling about and asked to be removed. Got no answer to either. Very annoying and creepy.
- Bill replies to JoanneWe are getting calls from this number , my elderly mother talked to a man with a middle eastern accent. He got her to go her computer and asked about passwords and bank accounts she had . I advised my mother to hang up and the man became furious..now we get 4-8 calls a day seven days a week. We answer the phone and it hangs up , if we let the machine pick up no message is left. Century Link said they can't do any call blocking , how do I get rid of these annoying harassing phone calls !
- Ching AndresI got an email instead and they said I have Norton Subscription in whichis equivalent to the amount of my credit card. So annoying!
