I appreciate this site as it helps me know which phone calls I receive are scammers and potential crooks.  I'm always worried that the call could have actually been from someone I really care about, perhaps wasting away in a Tijuana jail or somewhere....We get at least a half dozen calls throughout each day, and so I've come up with a system that works best for us to avoid having to be insulted or harassed by some jerk on the other end of the line.

My most annoying complaint about phone calls is that our phone's ring tone is always going off at the worst of times, especially during lunch, dinner, or when my favorite television show is on.

My solution was to disconnect the ringer on the phone and after my friendly voice on our answering machine says (politely) "We are not available to take your call so please leave your name, number and a brief message --we'll get back to you."

If we are home and the caller responds and we know the person, my wife or I will pick up the phone.  If we get a hang up we figure the call came from a scammer.  My wife and I have told all our friends and relatives of this process, and if we're not home, then we at least have their messages waiting for our return.

Robo calls are ignored from ALL marketeers, "charitable organizations",  religious groups, politicians, or solicitors of any type.  If those people want any information about us or our opinion on any subject, they can get all that and more from the United States government through the offices and auspices of the N.S.A.   :o)

In the mean time - I say purchase a call blocking device IF you wish to NOT be disturbed by these constant CRIMINAL calls.
BTW - most of the "representatives" that I hear from these days are quite busy trying to start a war with Iran.  The military industrial complex makes no money unless we are at war with some country...clearly "our" rights are not a priority to congress.

Four times a day; 7 days a week i get a scam/robocall from 818 925 6385.
Please make these scammers stop.

I block them and they change #s far more often then they change underwear. I really think once people give up cell phones the telemarketing industry will go the way of disco and CB radios. I block them all unless I want to play with them just to get them mad.I really do not believe that there are any legit telemarketers left anymore. Telemarketers are only good for making money for phone companies due to their sheer call volume and they are good for cheap entertainment from time to time, though I must say the novelty of messing with them has even wore off years ago.

Called at 10:39, did not answer and caller's recorded message started in the middle of their pitch saying "...this is your final opportunity..." Blah, blah, blah. This is the fourth call within 2 days showing up on Caller ID as a variation of: V040910361500289. Different number every time, but the funky Caller ID is the tip-off. I block every one of them...

I cannot believe the number of unsolicited calls we're getting. My husband just went on Medicare in the last year.  Any conspiracy theories re: Medicare selling lists to subsidize funding? How about the DNC registry selling them? 😡

at 10:19AM 4/09/2015 Received  ANOTHER call from **Carmen** "818 925-6385 OUT OF AREA" same recorded message 'this is your final offer to lower your rates and BLA BLA BLA.  this is the 4th call in 3 days from *CARMEN* Calls from "646 604-9529 LOCAL" "704 457-9278 OUT OF AREA" "657 393-6527 NAME NOT FOUND"  all the calls are spoofed number and report to the FTC

this number calls numerous times a week.don't know anyone from this area code.these calls are annoying.

Every day for a year this # has called me with a recording saying it's last chance to refinance and no option to speak to anyone, says "You are 74 in line to speak to an operator." Totally annoying. Talk or don't call me!

Received the following from my call blocker.  One ring and they are dealt with.

Called my home number, 08apr15 @ 12.28 pm. No message., but if its another "rachel from card services" I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm at work, get this call every day. How do I stop it? I try to call back and it can not be called back.

Got a call from this number. A robovoice left a partial message on VM talking about reducing credit interest rate down to 1 per cent but  this would be my last notice. I sure hope so. This particular scam has started up again.

I haved tried numerous times to have my phone number removed from this list.  I get 10 calls or more a week from this number and Bridgette.. When I am placed on hold, I tell the customer service person and they are unbelievably rude and hang up on me.  This is a scam and I have reported it and have asked to be placed on the DO NOT CALL LIST, but I continue to get these calls.  This is a total scam and I am sick to death of it.
