called number back and claimed to be US treasury- a known scam that our police department has been warning about. They have called twice today and when you pick up no voice,,

Scam - someone claiming to be from US Treasury and that warrant has been issued for arrest for unpaid taxes

This P.O.S. called 5 times today in 3 and a half hours and left 3 of the same recorded messages. Claiming from US Treasury, but it's SCAMMER. Did not pick up, and now the 828 area code is on my block list. Worth it to have caller ID and call block.

Received the same message on 4/7/2015, from the US Treasury blah blah blah

Some [***] with a strong Indian accent claiming to be with the US Treasury investing some "crime".  Advises you to cooperate wit the investigation and call him back at that number.  My advice is to call back and claim you are from the FBI or the FCC and you are investigating THEM!  I guarantee if you call back and put them on the defensive they will pee their pants and hang up immediately.

ditto the other's comments:  caller claiming to be US Treasury warning about enforcement action.  Ignore and put number on block list.

Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge auto-client(?) and we want a federal criminal offense. My number is 828-528-2690. I repeat 828528269051 you to cooperate with us and help us to help you. Thank you.”

Make them stop

Had a voice message saying there was a warrant out against me, US Treasury, law enforcement action etc.  Heavy Indian accent.  I called number back and could not understand one word this guy said to me.  I called back to see what the deal is because I knew it was a scam.

Could not get name of company only the phone number:  828.528.2690

Just spoke to the "enforcement officer" himself letting me know I have a warrant. When I asked what county, he got all offensive...

Look folks...

Don't fall for these calls..Challenge them with simple questions..If is serious, the local and federal departments will let you know by mail..

Just had the same experience

The scammers are annoying and keep calling several times a day. I filed a complaint against them through the its website and will follow another complaint with the federal trade commission. Additionally when you confront these fools on the phone you will report them to the authorities they simply hang up.

They are getting really aggressive with the calling.  They have called at least a half a dozen times today alone.
This Indian guy has left numerous messages on our VM.  It is really irritating to get all these VM and calls.
I called back and the Indian guy actually answered, so I told him to stop calling and that this was a scam and before I could say anything else, he hung up on me.

Although he told me my name and address after I called him back, I can get that info from the phone book.  He did not know if I did my taxes or an accountant, and would not tell me what my social security number is.  As soon as I was to hang up, federal officers would be at my house to arrest me within 45 minutes (like the feds can move that fast!) for non-payment of a tax bill mistake from 2011.  Also told me my bank accounts were now being frozen.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Called them and they ask what number you received the call on.  If you don't tell them, they hang up. It was some sort of US Treasury issue.  Strong accent.  Not sure what type.  Hits me as some sort of Asian accent.

Called 5 times today.  Claims to be from  US Treasury.  Going to have me arrested for something if I don't call back.  The number is 828-528-2690
