Received two calls this morning. I picked up the phone the first time and no one on the other end. A recording came on with a man having a heavy Indian accent claiming to be from US Treasury blah blah blah. On 2nd call, I didn't answer, but the recording came back on with same message. Now it is on my blocked call list. Sure are a lot of jerks in this world.

No one can do that.  The calls originate in India or Pakistan.  Invest in a call blocker.

Scammer-do not respond!

828-528-2690 left message. Foreign sounding guy, named Dennis Quaid....said I could be facing "a Federal Criminal Offense" and to "..help us help you". LOL!!

Thanks for the post. I received the same message and at first was startled. I decided to Google the phone number and came upon your post. Now I'm ticked at these clowns. Thank you.

Just got a call from these scammers and I am so tired of them. When I called back, the women answered, saying she was from the US Treasury Dept.  I laughed at her and said "oh really".  She then asked why I was calling and I said I wanted to know why they are trying to scam people, at which point she hung up on me.  Loved it!

I am getting so sick of all these scam calls.  I got my self an air horn, I am now answering all of these calls and blowing the horn.  Maybe I can blow out their ear drums.

Someone with an accent so thick I could only understand half of what he said called with a "second warning" that I needed to call him or face a magistrate. I am on every don't call list there is, and these people still call me.  It's enough to make you get rid of your phone...

EAST INDIAN ACCENT LEAVING A MESSAGE REGARDING US TREASURY PROBLEMS

Just received the same vm you all got. Annoying! Thankfully, the phone number he called goes to a voicemail where all calls are screened

Got the call yesterday.   Claimed to be an "important action executed by the US Treasury . . . ignoring this will be an intentional second offense to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense."  Considering the guy's obvious difficulty with the English language I am surprised that anyone falls for this but that is why the victims are usually the elderly who get confused.

That is exactly the message that was left for me too word for word.

Received 2 calls. Perhaps I will notify them I work for the state and will report this scam to my supervisors!
