- SeriouslyReveived 2 calls from them looking for my ex husband. The first time I spoke with Autumn and stated that they were calling the wrong number looking for him. She said okay. "Kevin Harper" stated he was calling for a breach of contract and for attempting to defraud a finanicial institution. I Googled Kevin Harper and he is an attorney out of AZ.

- IT doesn't MatterI get a recorded message from Kevin Harper monthly from an 832 phone number on a monthly basis and have been for 13 months. They ask for some deadbeat who stopped working at this office 13 months ago. It's the same recorded message people in previous posts here have received. I stopped telling them she no longer works here 6 months ago because it obviously doesn't work. For a couple months I told them that she died and asked if they saw the story in the news. They said no and said they would take the number off the list. They keep calling. Today after the 4th phone call I told them they should file suit because the deadbeat isn't paying. The woman on the other line seemed surprised. Maybe next month I will start giving them my politician's phone numbers.

- darrowbyHave received 5 calls from this 'Kevin Harper' so far, looking for Kim Noble, 2 lawsuits re breach of contract & defrauding a financial institution. i have no loans, no credit cards, & I'm not named Kim. The msg says they'll serve me on the suits at my home or place of work - THEN says "you have been served". Excuse me? By a voice mail msg?? THEN this Kevin guy says I can settle the case 'before you're served' (huh?) by calling the plaintiff, & gives another out of area phone number. Tell me, what atty that has "been retained" will tell the defendant to call his plaintiff?? Not too bright! Anyway, I filed a complaint on the FCC website (they really do look into problems unlike Do Not Call Registry). you can go to www.fcc.gov & do the same.

- KateReceived same call as others have reported. Didn't answer, but they did leave an automated voice mail.
- DavidHere we go again, received yet another call from 832-742-7937. This is just another typical 'mom and pop' type collection agency. They collect on outstanding payday loans and they employ scare tactics against you by using legal jargon. They'll say things like you've committed 'fraud', "there's pending charges against you", "you're going to be served", or "taken to court", yada yada yada...
I'm a former collection manager (for a reputable company) so I'm well aware of the tactics they use. Do not be intimidated by them. If you want, you can have them validate the debt by demanding that they send you something in the mail. If you dont want to go that route then get their mailing address and send them by certified mail, a cease and desist letter.
Personally, I like to have a little fun with them and call their bluff. When they realize they cant fool me with their b.s., they get frustrated and hang up.- Caller: Who really cares

- Ed replies to NicolePlease thank your husband for his service (from a Marine father).
- Andrea| 1 replyReceived a call from Timothy Walker who was trying to serve me court papers. Appeared he was reading it from a script. Stayed home during the hours he was to deliver papers which he never showed. In retrospect I see those were the first two red flags.
He left a contact for a David Newman at 832 742 1494 with a case number. I have been sued before so it sounded legit.
I called Mr. Newman who knew who I was from my phone number. Red flag number 3. He rambled that he represents a client Action Fininicial Services who represents APL cash advance loans. He told me I never paid a online cash payday loan back in April 2013 and I owe $956.62. If I go to court the amount can go up to $2800.00. However he has been authorized to reduce the amount to $573.59 if I pay today or sometime in the future.
Now sadly I have taken out online payday loans in the past so I thought this was legit. Stupid me gave my debit card info and authorized to have him withdraw that amount on my next paycheck. I get offers like this from my old credit card companies so again I thought it was legit. I then hung up and researched Action and APL which are companies on the internet. Collection agency and payday loan company.
It's only when I researched the number and saw this page of complaints did I realize it was scammers. I since called back and got Mr. NEWMAN'S voice mail asking him to cancel the fequest and serve me with the court papers instead.
I'm heading down to the bank as well. If it's real than they can serve me. Thank you for all of the previous posts. Wish I investigated it first before calling. I'll post what the bank said later.- Caller: David Newman

- ANDREA replies to AndreaAdvised to cancel debit card.. Lesson learned!!
- Kat HFAKE. They buy your info from other businesses. First of all, do you really think a courier who is about to serve you would call you with the date and time?? Nope. What's REALLY annoying is that once they know they have a real person, they run a skip trace to get contact info for your family members and start calling them! Luckily, my brother is a cop so he told them he knows they're full of crap. They give up for a month or two but start right back up again - calling me non-stop on my cell using spoofed local numbers and also my work phone. DO NOT ENGAGE!!!

- ceegreenThey called my phone this morning saying the same thing they said to all of you...im blocking them
