Received a phone call and they an automated vm saying that they are with the Student Loan Navient regarding the lawsuit. They said I was qualified to for student forgiveness. I called the number back and spoke with a guy and he asked did I have a Federal student loan account and I said yes and then he ask for my email saying that once he entered that he was going to reset my password to download my loans. I hung up the phone. Sound like a scam

Yes.  they left a robotic voicemail. seems like a scam to me.  they said they represent Navient loans and they can get your loan deleted even if it's in default.  doesn't sound legit at all.

Well, of course it's a scam. You yourself said you've never had a student loan so how could you be in default?

Same suspicious call, female voice, voice mail, about
Navient qualifying you for relief on student loans. She said to just call
the number and if you press 2 they will remove your phone number.
(Note: I had this same voice call me about 3 months ago. Then they quit.
I guess they think, SURELY by now, I MUST have gotten a STUDENT LOAN)

I NEVER had a student loan. I did my time at college the old fashion way.
Pay for it!  Save till you have the money!  My parents paid some and I paid some.

Hope this doesn't open me up for more scam calls.

Was called & got a VM staying the same as above, just a different personal ID # to give them when I called in. Before I called back, I called Navient. They knew nothing about this company, phone #, Navient lawsuit that provides loan forgiveness, etc. So I called the # back (833-529-7813) & spoke to a “Michael” who said he worked for “The Student Help Center” out of Orange County, CA & that the Liam forgiveness was based off of the William D Ford Act. I advised “Michael” that 1)my loans haven’t been with Navient for at least 2 years, and 2)My loans have been discharged due to Total & Permanent Disability.... so why were they calling me?? He said that they’re setting up payment arrangements for people short term & once they meet their payment arrangements, their loan gets discharged and they owe nothing more. The more questions I asked, the more he said “Well you already got your loans discharged so why are you asking all these questions?”

I ended up telling him it sounded like a scam to me and ended the call. I did ask him why they were contacting people who’ve NEVER had a student loan, and he said “Well maybe they were a reference for someone who’s not making payments”.... Really dude? That made no sense to me. My bottom line is, don’t provide ANY personal information to these people. It doesn’t sound legit, and Navient didn’t have a clue as to who these people were. And with a name like “The Student Help Center” they clearly aren’t an established business that’s out discharging student loans. Just my thoughts from my experience. Never provide personal information to anyone who contacts you.

That is kind of an ignorant thing to say. My son went to school full time, while working full time, applied for grants and scholarships and still ended up with over 25,000 in student loans. I'm not sure where you went to school but not everyone can afford to do it "the old fashioned way". You should think before you speak!

Was it really that important for you to have to write that  out and physically send it? You may ask me the same about my responding to you right now but I thought it was definitely worth it.
