Just FYI, I had a few small scholarships, never had less than one job from the day I turned 16, did community college first, chose to do a state school, went to school close to home so I could save by living at home, was an impeccable saver and still had to take out some loans for college/my masters degree. Sometimes the “old fashioned way” is negated through ridiculous prices for college. No need to try to play that card, pal....it’s a real problem. I don’t think forgiveness of loans is the answer, but it’s outlandish what the cost for college is now.

I went to college when in-state tuition was $50 a semester, and I lived at home. No loans, much less of the sort these people are talking about. I sent a transcript to my congressman's office, and have been doing so with every verifiable scam call I get. Maybe if enough people did something similar the congress would do something about this crap. BTW, I got this scam call on a brand new cell phone and new number within an hour of activating it. I hadn't even notified my contact list that I had a new cell number.

Hi, this is Loraine Carter (wonder if she's related to JayZ) agent ID 5527 I'm following back (never contacted, to begin with) up with you regarding the recent Navient lawsuit filing. Your student loan has been accepted into the settlement which now entitles you to receive loan forgiveness on all future payments. What's great about this is the settlement offer applies to loan statuses including if your loans are in default. It's suggested you call today to have this activated before expiration. Settlement line is 833-529-7813 make sure to supply you personal validation number 44740 when calling in. Hope this helps and have a nice day!

It's also a shame that with an alleged college education you can't spell simple words such as "for" and "yes" or manage to use basic punctuation.

I received the same message referenced here with a different personal id #.  When I called back the man I spoke to was short and somewhat rude.  Everytime I pressed him for more information he would tell me that I was not qualified and then hang up.
