I just got off the phone with them, something about needing an attorney.  I have no idea what this is

Scam, they mentioned that I was being sued.  So how is it I've never had papers served on me?

An extortionist trying to scare you into paying money you do not owe. Block the number and move on.

There is no lawsuit. Read on:

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Sounded very threatening and something about..have your attorney contact them otherwise suffer some serious and especially legal repercussions !
A women's voice concluded the message with a mocking type tone of voice.

This pre-recorded message is obviously a scam since the caller indicated that he was calling in regard to a law suit involving IRS and that I or my attorney should call this number! When I dialed this number to respond with my concerns about this call, it simply rang and rang and nobody answered.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest as related to ordinary tax disputes.  Having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is NOT a crime.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks or Itunes cards or similar for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.   All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

This,person is calling in regards to a cimplaint

IF there was an actual complaint, you would NOT have a cold call.  Read Alfalfa & CWG40's earlier posts in this thread.

This guy just started calling my number. Recently it was a woman named Rebecca.  They say there's a complaint filed against me and me or my attorney needed to call them asap. This is a scam.  I block these numbers.

Threatening phone call about someone I suppose to know threatening to issue a warrant.

Real process servers don't call in advance and they don't give you the option to pay your way out of being served.

Called me saying it was a police officer john lewis

Called stating his name was John Lewis he was looking for my estranged step-daughter in regards to a complaint filed and the next step would be to notify the proper authority. When they find her I wish they let us know where she has moved to.

This number Is calling my family member trying to say they are looking me and recorder pop on this is a scam

Called many times trying to get me to pay money for a bill to my son that he knows nothing about.  Will not send any info to support.  Says he is calling police.

Said they were trying to locate someone with the same name.  If I don't call back they will contact the necessary authorities.  This is the second message they have left and said the same thing.
