Received the call from 773-536-1339 but the call back number is 843-534-5765.  IRS scam that if you don't call back immediately they will come and arrest me!!!  Bwahahaaaaa!! SCAM  I'm sure they will accept gift card payments to take care of the debt too.  ;)

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.  IRS has enough administrative authority under the IRS Code and related regulations to collect all taxes lawfully due the federal government.     Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest as related to ordinary tax disputes.  Having a deficiency in taxes owed by way of audit is NOT a crime.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks or Itunes cards or similar for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.   All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Everyone please note:

Effective in April of 2017, the IRS will start using private debt collectors who may, in fact contact you. Note the IRS will notify you by mail that your account is being turned over to a private group.  The private collector will then send you another letter.  They may call you after that point.

Called with a recorded voice threating our business and an employee.  Stupid people!!!!!  Number to call 843-534-5765.  Didn't identify who was calling, nothing.  Go for it scumbag!!!!!

Called and asked to speak to x husband and said if he did not call back they would send the proper authorties after him..

Robo call left a message (I already have this number marked as spam) asking for my son who has never lived at this phone number.  Named my son by first and last name.  My son lives on other side of U.S.  Said a lawsuit is being filed against him and that "proper legal authorities" will be notified.  duh, okay - whatever I'm not a sheeple.

They just called me and left a voicemail saying that they r going to go to the proper authorities if I don't call back

Just rec'd vm stating same as above. It was a person however the name they were looking for was automated and hard to understand. Threat of notifying the authority as well.

They told me they are a mediation company calling on behalf of some financial company that owned over 1200 payday online companies and said they were recommending that they press charges against me for two unpaid loans that I took out back in August of 2012-with a California address . The problem there is we left Cali way before that!

Caller uses software that bypasses your telephone and goes straight to your telephone carrier provided voice mail. A prerecorded robo call that plays over your outgoing greeting.

This is a total scam. If you call back and get through to a live person (just wants you to leave messages) just keep pressing buttons, eventually you can hack into their system.

Threatening calls to my phone and my sis phone about lawsuits against me and if I don’t call back it will be taken to proper authority!!! Some lowlife scammers!!! Jeez!!!

Calling myself and family members scaring them like I'm in big trouble.  Truly defamation of character.

Me: You didn't talk to Sheriff Andy Taylor did you? He already has it in for me
Caller: Yes, I spoke to Sheriff Taylor, but you can resolve this complaint now before your arrest by giving your bank account information....
Me: Wait...I need to call Deputy Barney Fife first and make sure this is legit. (click)
