It is too bad they don't teach reading in school anymore.  Otherwise you would have known who was calling, what to do about it, and where to report it (hint:  it isn't the FCC).

Calls and leaves a message, but doesn't state who the call is for only that it is a professional debt collector.

They call asking for all my information and say I have an outstanding debt with the department of education.......I paid off my student loans last year......and continue harassing me saying they are going to take money out of my paycheck

They were on my caller ID, but left no message. Thinking about making a report with the proper authorities; definitely going to block.  Sounds absolutely SCAMMY - especially since Maryland is on EST, and their message when I called, noted hours in Mountain time.  [***].

Rude and pushy collection agents who keep calling asked for a person who does not work here and we have never heard of.  They will not accept "no" for an answer, insist we are hiding the person, and claiming that we may be subject to criminal prosecution for "concealment".  They claim they are working for the U.S. Government.  BALONEY!

I received a call from this number, I identified myself by first name only.  Woman wanted more of my personal information... I didn't give her any. She then claimed to be a debt collector. SCAM ALERT. I have been looking for a car to purchase online, used text to contact.   I identified two scams on Craig list, people who say they are local but they are not..  I wonder if there could be a link?

normally I do not answer no caller ID numbers but I did this time they asked for me but I told them I was not there and they continue to as when’s the best time to call me back I said I did not know they as well is there another number they can call me at I told them that I cannot give that out since I was pretending to be someone else then they as well what time did you say they’ll be back and I told them I said I didn’t know then I ask where did I work and I told them I don’t think that she would want me saying that so she finally left name and number which was this one instructing me To try and get me to call back today wouldn’t give me any other information.

Keeps calling me, but never asks for me by name. I've blocked their number so they're wasting their time and energy. They must be dialing random numbers.

Debt scammer had all my personal info on a student debt that’s already been resolved

Still up to the same old game apparently. Calling office and asking for me by name. Saying it's a personal matter.

They called my federal government phone demanding I call them back.

They asked for a name that I have not used since 1994 due to marriage however, they received my current number which I have only less than 5 years.  However, had I owed a debt, it would have been cleared up with the recent bankruptcy

Left a voicemail saying they were trying to collect a debt. Don't have any, so SCAM?!?

I received a call at my worksite.  I don't answer numbers that do not affiliate at the hospital.  This is a suspicious caller whom i just didn't answer and nor will I returned the call to.  Why should I, right?  Again reporting this as a spam and there are so many robocallers which are very irritating and impending into our personal cell numbers and business number.

Called numerous times by numbers in my area code which hung up when I answered. I finally got someone when they called again but didn’t Identify themselves. They just kept saying I owe them money and asked to send proof with verfyinf documentation. Months later I get a letter from Professional Bureau Collections is Maryland. I call my most lender, the only one I have and they instructed me not to give them any information and they don’t see anything outstanding for student loans. They told me to disregard because it could be a scam. I agreed and then my income taxes were offset and said the collector was the Professional Bureau Collections of Maryland. I tried numerous times to call them and either they hang up on me after staying on hold forever or they send me to a voicemail from which I never get a call back. Im taking legal action. I’m so scared right now.

You might want to talk to your tax preparer. I don't believe your taxes can be touched by a debt collector without a court order.
By the way, please give us the name and business address that was on your letter. Thanks.
