I got a call that they could lower my account and it was a little weird be use it was from a private caller and they said they were with att and his name was John Thomas. And after I didn't answer some question like my date of birth they just said "okay bye" in a very rude way I'm glad I didn't give my information

Caller obviously calling from a busy call center, identified herself as Kerstie Larson with Birch representing CenturyLink, said our rates were going to be lowered b/c we are a small business and lots of other double talk. I listened b/c I have a repair call out to CenturyLink, but I quickly became suspicious with her nonsense and the fact that the caller ID just said "Oregon Call"  - We receive at least 5 nonsense calls a day - I asked for her contact number and looked it up and here I am. Total BS. As I hung up on her, I could hear her say, "Why aren't you saying anything?" I'm not saying anything b/c who knows what crap these people will pull. I should have listened to my instincts immediately. She called right back with a Texas number - 210-864-6852 so they're obviously spoofing numbers too. I just hung up on her.

The caller states she is from AT&T and are going to lower my phone bill. I looked up the # on google and it looks like a scam.

This isn't the only company that pulls this!! I got suckered in by Touchbase Communications last year!! Same song and dance! They want you to believe they are working on AT&T's behalf and then you are switched and you are paying double because you leave AT&T with a contract! If they were legit they wouldn't try to trick you!! They would tell you up front they are with Birch and boy do we have a deal for you, but they don't!! While they were talking I was googling! When I told the next guy I wasn't interested and hung up he called me back! I'm all about a good deal! But if a company is sneaky, that's not a good company to deal with!! Good luck!

It's called slamming.  They try to trick you into believing they are AT&T and tell you that in order to start saving, they "just need to give you this reference number." The reference number is actually their authorization to change your service!  The little creep that tried to bait me into this where I work says his name is Bradley Noel.  CON ARTIST!!!

Just got this call from Birch Telecom... "affiliate" of AT&T... I am more suspicious of these types of cold calls than most and when some one offers free Nationwide Long Distance my already suspicious senses went through the roof... Hung up as soon as the "manager" come on the line to ask me the 4 recorded questions to give me my reference number... People beware this crap is only going to get worse.

Brittany with Birch said, after confirming I'm the person that makes decisions on our company's phone service, that she was giving us a courtesy call that our next month bill would be reduced as they are working with AT&T's small business customers lines to transition them to Birch for service. She said I didn't need to sign anything, it would just change over next month and we would pay less, lines would stay the same as they are a reseller of lines. When I said I didn't want to do anything without verifying this with my AT&T rep, she gave me her name and this call back number. It was not the number that came up on caller id though. That was a 704 area code.

They are illegally trying to "slam" your service without your knowledge.  That is why they are calling you.  They want you to say "yes" so that they can splice it into a recording where you authorized them to change service.  Notify ATT, your State AG, and the FCC.

I got a call that had ID of Illinois call, answered it and as soon as he said AT&T I hung up.  It's been the third one in two days.  Seconds later I get a call that says Ohio Call, answer it, the same guy saying "I'm not selling anything I'm your acct rep for AT&T.  Then he went into telling how they are lower my bill, he just wanted to tell me about it.  He then gave me "his" number which was 844-244-4554 and started to give me a reference number.  Hung up again.

I got a call from someone claiming to be a John Thomas originally claiming to have "Good News" as a representative of my current phone carrier, Century Link.  He told me that my monthly fee would be reduced to $37.95 effective in November due to small businesses complaining that large ones were getting the benefit of lower rates.  He then shifted me to a Mark Williams who wanted to ask some questions and record my response and when they came to an authorization to change my carrier I hung up.  Mr. Williams called me back immediately and wanted to continue the recording and I told him that I'd been misled from the start as I'd told Mr. Thomas at the beginning that I DID NOT want to change carriers.  I plan to call the Attorney General of the State of Colorado to report this fraud.  What a bunch of jerks!

I've had Birch for almost a year now. My rep Kirsty, and her manager Dora, true to their word is, is there to answer questions and also set up service calls for techs to come out to my office and I've never had any issues since I switched. Too bad there's so many poor reviews!

Glad you are "so smart" because Birch Communications is a RE SELLER FOR AT&T and Century Link LAND LINES; We do not discount cable companies such as comcast or Spectrotel or Cox, get it together, now obviously you actually have a business phone line like a designated fax or hunting line. :p Your life is a scam, people only go online to write NEGATIVE reviews when this company's been in business since 1996 and manages hundreds of thousands small to mid size business accounts that benefit from the services, Birch Communications is the carrier of the lower rates for customers that have the phone company's physical service...Thats like saying  Boost Mobile is a scam-NO-they are a seperate carrier leasing the phone company's cell towers

Birthdate is to verify the customer is over 18 years of age, since its over the phone. We are regulated by the FCC and require certain information to have on file because there is a lot of junk(scams selling upgrades and addtl. features, and slamming companies out there who pretend to be with AT&T or Century Link) and the verification is for your company's PROTECTION. Plus, you could use your company's tax ID if you prefer not to provide a birthdate.(THESE RECORDED VERIFICATIONS ARE NOT FOR MARKETING/SOLICITATION PURPOSES or ANY STORED COMPANY RECORDS)

You are a LIAR and nobody called you saying that. You, sir, are misrepresenting the company that was put in place due to the smaller business accounts who were complaining about their bills being much higher than they were quoted and now they are able to lower the bill and you're STILL complaining.?

Just got a call at my office from this number claiming to be CenturyLink (my phone provider) to let me know about a rate reduction in my bill. The guy said he would get me a reference number and my scam alarm went off.  I was passed off to a woman that needed some information to get me my reference number.  I told her I wasn't interested in changing my service or companies.  She claimed they were simply reducing my phone rates.  I told her I was not interested.  I asked if she was CenturyLink and she said no, Birch Communications a rate reduction company, didn't Anthony explain that.  I said no, and I did not want her service and hung up.
