Presented as ATT wanting to change my service in order to save money.

Got a call today at my office. Claimed they were affiliated with AT & T and wanted to lower my bill.  I kept asking if this were AT & T, and she said no, that AT  & T would still own the lines, they were just lowering the bill. She needed me to answer some recorded questions. While waiting for that, I looked up the rep number she gave me, and found that it belongs to a company called Birch Telecom, and read a report.  I immediately hung up and printed the report.  Here's what the report says… (note that I am quoting another persons report)

"Birch Communications let us to believe they were affiliated with AT & T and could provide cheaper serviced. The affiliation with AT & T put me at ease - a few days later I get a bill from AT& T for early termination ($700.00) and find that they are not affiliated with AT&T but purchase business from AT & T and resell it.

"This company (Birch) makes their money from deception and charging people out of this world termination fees when they return their service because Birch mis-represents themselves as partner type business with AT &T. After returning my services to AT & T, I received a bill from BIRCH for $1750.00 - early termination fee. After speaking to them, I am deeply offended that businesses like Birch are allowed to continue to swindle people."

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!  I called A T & T to find out about this, and they said they have no affiliation with this company and were glad that I hung up when I did. He gave a number we can call to complain.  800-649-7570, which is California's Utility complaint department.  If you're in a different state, you might want to call A T & T and get that number from them in your area

Thank you for this thread/comment. I was in the middle of the phone call with the questions and when he said, "you can use your birthdate, or mine" I became concerned and then I asked if they were AT&T and he said "no" I hung up immediately.

Same dialog of 7/7/2015 posting however Ryan W. with Birch stated I will transfer you. Wen I stated that I have not agreed to changing my services nor was I comfortable when I am them to repeat our business #'s and he could not. Then I stated to be removed from their  calling list. He stated very rudely, "Fine have your bill go up in three months" and hung up. Slick operator, Please beware of this company.

a guy name brain walker call from att. but they are not with att. try to call to lower the rate. been very rude. that going to the blacklist.

I am a state farm agent who has referred many agents to Lori at Birch. She is outstanding and very patience. I received my first bill and its exactly what she promised. It sucks to see everyone else having a bad experience, but not one person has commented on their rates being actually lower than previous bills. If you want a great account manager I would recommend Lori #844-244-4554.

Tell me, how/why did you get to this website? Most people find it when searching for numbers that they have had trouble with.  Yet here you are giving a positive recommendation.  Hmmmm...

Received a call, they said they where Century Link, they are not.  After being put on hold, I was told I could approve the lower bill, even though I told them I do not handle this part of the company I work for. They then told me, "They wouldn't be mad at you lowering the bill would they?"

Just got a call from this number - they offered to lower my Comcast Bill. I thought it sounded fishy so I popped the # in google and found this thread.

I immediately hung up the phone and when I got a call back I told the woman I wasn't interested. This conversation followed...
Me: "I am not interested, thank you."
Caller: "It took you this long to figure that out?"
Me: "Yes, I googled you and discovered you were a scam."
Caller: "Well glad you're smart and know how to use google. Have a nice day!"

Seriously!! Wow!! No shame!!

I've had a few calls from this number always posing as Century Link with promises to lower my bill. They always want my birthdate and name. The first time, the guy asked me for my name, title, position in the company, whether or not I was authorized to make changes to my bill, and my birthday. He asked me all of these questions about 3 times, and finally, I was demanding to know why he needed my birthdate, and he said to verify things, even though I had given it to him 3 times already. I finally hung up. and now have a note next to the phone to NOT ANSWER this number.

Birch is a reseller of the phone lines in your area. They help smaller businesses lower their phone bill because you don't create enough volume to receive those rates from the larger phone companies (AT&T & CENTURYLINK) You guys sound uneducated about the phone world. All I'm reading is negative reviews about peoples contract and early termination fees which is something they don't have access to. The real company you should be mad at is the larger corporations which don't care about you as a customer rather than blaming it on Birch which prides themselves with live customer service, and offer month to month plans for EVERY customer. Other phones companies slam you with contracts and always promise you a cheaper bill but never follow through and now your stuck calling the phone company waiting on hold for 3 hours just to hear some bad news. Birch assigns a representative to your account and provides live customer service. If you have early termination fees they will buy out your contract just to keep you as a customer. Not only do they treat you better but they also bill you less. If you like "brand" names than stick with the larger phones companies. I hope you learned more about the company.

So how about giving us the rest of the info on this so called great company there! Since you work for them, then you should be able to post up the following info:

Calm the heck down Tiffs!!   I heard your Birch bark about a mile away.  You know, in most sales and spam ad promotions such as yours, it is considered impolite to suggest things like "You guys sound uneducated about the phone world", since that makes you all superior and all.  What we all learned from you today was that you rep a company that approves of placing Sneaky Spam Ads into posts and threads were they don't belong.  I wouldn't trust your company with buying hotdogs for a picnic.  Unethical sneak ads don't inspire confidence.  I did a little search on your company.... My, My, My....  Not good.  Not good at all.  Page after page of problems - many to do with Deceptive Trade Practices - Imagine That!!    Here, take a look!!

I have to hand it to you Tiffs, I had not heard a peep about your company until just now.  Nor had many other people.  But they have now, and not in too good a light.   The problem with posting spam ads is people like me get curious and it only takes a minute to find out all kinds of interesting stuff.  So good work!

BTW, I kinda doubt you are or there is a Tiffany.  Spam ads tend to be thought up by some Jr. Exec Type who rather than work screws around on the computer and thought this was a good, cheap marketing campaign.  Well, you got your money's worth, didn't ya?  Maybe I'll send this to your boss, show you up real good.  Take your salary and use it to pay for some of those lawsuits I saw mentioned...
