just called my work and cell looking for a family member. he stated he was from the cuyahoga county police dept and his name was officer  scott freeman

I got one left on my voicemail looking for a person I don't even know threading to have Harris county sheriff department pick them up these people are a joke and should stop harassing people once they tell them they have the wrong number

I guess there from every city and state probably debt collectors such a joke and very rude

These people threatened that they were arresting my mother.

Threatened to bring 2 armed officers to my work and home to arrest me for a felony!

They threatened to take me to jail and stated that I was being charged with malicious intent to defraud a bank and that if I did not respond immediately that they were going to send the cops to my house or place of employment and arrest me if I did not come up with a certain amount of money within an hour. And they were extremely rude and they did make threatening statements.  Not professional at all.

They called themselves investigators from the summons division

I got a similar call threatening me with two felony charges and a warrant for my arrest. These crooks are violating fair debt collection practices and the federal trade commission.  I intend to file multiple complaints with these agencies. Any idea of the name and address of the parent company?

I just got the same message today too. I asked them to send me a email stating what they were saying and I have yet to see the email. They are scammers!!

Yes they called my mom and gave her a crazy message for me then I called and the same person that answered pretended to be the person that I was suppose to call for and got very angry and hung up on me when I wouldn't give my name. .

Received a call from independent investigator Davis.  Calling to verify my location so she and an uniform official could serve me with a summons.  If I had any questions I am to call Ms. Colvin at 309-323-9398 ext 265.  I am to make sure I have no guns or dogs on the premises.  Did not say who the filing party is.

"Location Services" called from caller ID 309-323-9398 asking for someone who doesn't even live here.  Return calls back to the number, which appears to be a debt collection agency, only went to voicemail.  Submitted complaint to the Georgia Department of Consumer Protection as I'm tired of this person's name being tied to my number.

Total scam.  Being in ordinary civil debt is NOT a crime and you cannot be arrested or prosecuted for it.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

This "Scott Freeman" persona (See entry here dated 10 Mar 2016) calls from several numbers.   See 678-212-5484 800notes.  He calls representing something called ROUNDTREE & MYERS, LLC located in Georgia.  This has been dissolved, but the BBB shows it still operating.  Freeman and his co-workers put out the same sort of threats and MO, you see here. Claim to be representing some vague governmental agency and is going to serve you with papers.  Threats of arrest for "felony charges" and all the rest of it.   See also: 678-515-9461, 678-212-5483 800notes.  They also use ARS, and ARS Recovery and ARS National as phony CIDs.
