Telling me I needed to contact Comcast.

I have a legitimate appointment with Comcast on Jan 16, 2017.  This call said the "transaction can't be completed" unless I called COMCAST and verified my ID.   It's the same number reported by MO.

I went to Comcast store to change my phone from AT&T. I got a call from this number telling me the FCC needed me to call for 3rd party verification.

I received a call stating he was John from Comcast regarding my new order I placed on 7/17.  He said that I do not call back with the verification information the order will be cancelled.  The verification is required by the FCC.

Is this legit?

I believe this is legitimate though I'm still skeptical and would call Comcast directly during normal hours. I received a call at 10:20 PM from 800-266-2278 and the voice message said to call Comcast at this number (844-389-4668) to complete verification or my order would be cancelled. I called Comcast directly the next morning and they said that I have not completed the verification to port my number.

I got a message from this number stating my "order cannot be completed without third party investigation.  If we don't hear back from you by Oct 11 your order will be cancelled."  I don't have any pending orders with Comcast and when I called Comcast directly, they don't have any calls logged on my account nor record of anyone accessing my account.

Caller claims to be Comcast and leaves message telling you to call the 844 # for "verification" required by the FCC.  Definitely a phishing scam.  Delete the call and don't respond.

Left a voice message, saying I needed to call 844-389-4668 to verify my I'd. Or else my order with Comcast would be cancelled.  I completed an order the other day, n everything was cleared.
This is a scam to be avoided    I'm NOT calling, if they cancell mnot my problem.

So this is a validation of you and your address for 911 calling. You probably started new Voice over IP service and this ensures you can use 911 and they show up at the correct location. It does sound sketchy, but it is genuine.

I received a call from 844-389-4668 with the same message as many above (I called to start service a couple of days prior).  I called this number back and they started asking my address, which I gave them, then other questions at which time I told them I felt uncomfortable and would call Comcast directly.  She was pleasant, said to call 1800comcast and ask for the verification department.  I called Comcast, and the message I received said I needed to complete my verification, and would I like to start that now?  I said yes, but then was hung up on...twice.  It may be after hours.  I'll call back tomorrow...but will call Comcast directly just to be sure.

I got an email saying it was Comcast and I needed to call this number to complete my order. The email was missing all of the typical Comcast formatting/branding so I did not call this number

On November 23-18 i got a call from 844-536-9478 she just said Comcast , after I hang up and looked up this number Is NOT from Comcast.This is scam , whatch out people.

11-23-18 the lady call me with one word COMCAST after that I realized this’s scam suspicious ,definitely a phishing scam.

I have the same issue like all of above ,the caller trying to be COMCAST to scam everyone.Please Comcast you have to do something to protect your customers.

Received an email asking me to complete my acceptance of E-911 calling, however when I checked my order receipt, I had checked that box and also received a confirmation email from Xfinity.  They also said verification was being done by a 3rd party called "istonish".  This is so not how Comcast operates and btw, they don't use orderverification@Comcast.com,  they use Comcast.net. And they don't provide generic links like "Complete Confirmation" So many things wrong with this email.

If you already know who called you, why would you look up the number?

This is a scam. Or whatever it's called nowadays. I have no idea how these people got my cell phone number, as I had just been in contact with Comcast the previous day regarding our LAND LINE, but they called MY CELL and to claim that we needed to complete some verification something or other in order for our order to go through....... It SOUNDED legitimate .. until she asked for the last four digits of my social security number!!! BEWARE! I ended the call immediately, and talked to Comcast today [initiated on MY part] and they told me there is no additional verification needed, so this call was completely bogus. Do not give them any information!! Call Comcast back yourself at their customer service number (which is actually 1800-266-2278) and find out if there is actually something needed on your account.
