Same with me. Got a Velocity Credit Union Alert text. I do not have a VCU account (real CU, though).

No doubt a phishing scam.

I received the same text message and I also do not have an account with VCU.

I did too. Don't have an account. Wonder if they know this is happening?

SMS from 855-954-3535 saying "Velocity Credit Union Alert for <my phone number>. Contact 844-402-2726". Called the number and got an automated system saying that my debit card was locked - press 1 to unlock it. I pressed 1 and it asked for my "16-digit card number". At this point, I knew it was a scam so I hung up. Quite certain that it would have asked for my PIN code and I would have been screwed.

Same as others. Received SMS purporting to be from Velocity Credit Union and asking me to call 844-402-2726. I don't have any dealings with that company. Likely phishing.

I just got the same text. I do have an account there. I would not provide my 16 digit account number. This is obviously a scam if both members and nonmembers received it.

Its definitely a phising scam.  Once you give them your debit card number and PIN, they got ya!  I have a call into the Velocity CU in Austin to alert them.

Keep getting calls from different numbers. Most recent said it was from Velocity CU at 844-402-2726 as a call back number.

Same to me. Got a text message with my number and this numver. Called it and it prompts you for a card number bc of "fraud". I don't even have velocity. It is obvious when you listen to the recording it is a scam trying to phish for your cc numbers. Report and don't fall for it!!!
