Robocall presenting themselves as Cox cable.

Cox calling again. They are abusive. Cable rates are too high. Deceptive advertising in play. They will not email a reply and there's no good way to communicate with them.

If you already know who called you, why are you even here?

I got the same call. This is not Cox. I retired from Cox after 20+ years. Their messages do not say press one to stop further calls.

If this is the Cox billing dept. I do not understand why they are calling me... all of my stuff is paid and up to date with them...

The way they call is different from the usual cox calling. It looks like a scam calling that's why I called cox straight  by the number I know to make sure. It is very important at this time to question for things unfamiliar and suspicious.

That doesn't mean it's actually Cox calling. Scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers.

It is NOT Cox Cable. They called about my “bill”. Problem is- I don’t and have never had Cox.

NO IT IS NOT. Got the same call from the same number. I don’t even have nor have ever had Cox, and the call was about my “bill”, and they wanted my banking info to bring my account current

Your multiple misspellings give you away. Number is a spoof/scam

Did you change your services with them?  If so, it's also possible they are trying to get you to get more services.

Or it's a scammer spoofing the phone number.

Do you often look up known phone numbers?

Only if it's not in my contact list and the voicemail was different to the typical message.   My own post is still awaiting approval, but in my experience, I did check my account online when I got the voicemail and found I missed a payment and was up for a soft disconnect (the system would shut modem down).   Also being a former worker for an ISP, it's quite possible that the primary phone number was added incorrectly so the wrong people will get the calls.

The biggest rule of thumb, always go to the official site and check your account there (or call the number on their site) to ensure the call was legitimate.   Even if you don't have an account, the legit company can look your number up and remove it.
