That isn't true, they can talk to you if you are his wife.  These are probably criminal debt collectors trying to get your husband to pay them extortion money.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

Called at 5 am. Called again 6 times in the same day. When I talked to one person, another called my work and said the first person wasn't authorized to make deals. Told my work they were a debt collector investigating financial insolvency. Almost got me fired.

PROVE that ANY of these people owe any bills.  You can't do that because you are a troll.

Yeah, I think I said that.  But joint and several liability have nothing to do with it.  It is the fact that they are married.  Joint and several liability comes in play during civil lawsuit cases where there is more than one defendant.

What's the matter there scum?  Worried that informing people about your criminal activities will reduce the amount of money you can steal from them?

The calls start at 6:01 am. In seven days almost 70 calls. Up to ten a day. They call, leave the phone off for long enough to trip the voicemail and hang up, filling up the inbox. Never leave a message.
