Never, and I mean, NEVER ever deal with a collection agency.  If you have an outstanding debt for whatever reason, know that if you are being contacted by a collection agency, your debt has already been written off.  Know your rights.  Know your statute of limitations on debt.  Install a call blocker on your cell phone, change your home phone number.  Just never, EVER acknowledge these kinds of bottom dwellers.

Have your husband install a call blocker on his cell phone.  Change your home phone number to an unlisted number.  Use call blocking there too.  Make this harassment cost the collector a bundle.

They "attempt" to contact me up to 8 times a day (call blocker) and I know this is regarding a debt that is past the statute of limitations and belongs to someone I know, not me.  They already know they have the wrong phone number but prefer to take the passive aggressive approach and hope they can intimidate me enough to pressure the debtor (which is never going to happen).  They really are on the lowest rung of the evolutionary ladder so I treat them as I would a pesky mosquito.  I will not be intimidated and I'm not the least bit annoyed.  This post is simply to arm any innocent victims out there with any information that might help you cope with this nonsense.   I hope their attempts are costing them a small fortune.  That would be Karma at work.  Have a great day.

Do NOT talk to them.  Inform your switchboard at work to refuse their calls.  They cannot call you at work if you tell them not to.  It's the law.  Know your rights.

Keep calling and sending text messages asking for someone that I don't even know. I have told them that I don't know the person and this isn't their phone, but they keep calling. Not sure how to tell them so they understand!!!! Very annoying.

None left.  They call multiple times.  Have since Jan. 27.  They are also using 1-844-452-2504.  From research I have done here and on other sites, they are identifying themselves as the same company, CBV Collections. Have called Feb. 21 and today, March 6.

Debt buyer, not a collector.  They buy old debt you do not owe.  Just ignore these scum.  Never speak to them.

Have been calling me nonstop for over a week now, asking for someone I've never heard of, I keep telling them I don't know that person yet they continue calling every day, for every number they call from I block but they just keep calling from different numbers! I verbally threatened them with harassment charges this time!!

CBV Collections has been calling my number for the past 6 years . They ignore the statute of limitations over and over again . The new smartphones nowadays have built in block calls . Check your settings :)

Won’t stop calling

They've been calling my cellphone for almost 10 years, asking for someone whom I have no knowledge of. I always let it go to voicemail then delete the message and block the number. They've recently started sending texts, which are similarly deleted and blocked. I never speak with them, ever, and nothing dreadful has happened. They're at the very bottom of a long line of debt collectors who have bought old debt and are trying to recoup their investment. Whoever owes the money is now a decade away, and getting further each day.

Did not answer when they called

These are criminals working under a "business" name pretending that you have "debt" in which you dont!! They pay big banks to give them clients information and call you all the time to scam you out of money that you don not owe!!! Its a criminal organization and someone/people working at big banks are in on it. DO NOT ANSWER!! EVER!!!

just received a call from this number. No message left. if this is a debt collector i have no outstanding debts what-so-ever so i am not sure why they would be calling me. Possibly a scammer?
