DNC apparently doesn't matter.  Called from Rebecca - becker group-threatening me with action for items i am not even aware of...

All laws are constantly broken because all laws are based upon the honor system.  There is no  honor in those who break them.  DNC is no exception.

Woman from the Becker Group left a message on my cell phone looking for my son.  Said they were petitioning him in county court (named the county) and quoted a "case #" that could be tracked through the court system.  Sounded suspicious - upon talking to my son, he had received no correspondence from anyone making any claims against him and he had not defaulted on payments.  We both figured they are scam artists.

I got the same thing but along with 2 other companies...

I received the same thing. A man called saying there were legal actions taking and o needed to call back right away or a lawyer to call. The number isn't even valid. I'm so sick in tired of these people calling just to take from hard working people.,

ID themselves as "The Becker Group"  No idea where they are located..

Hi i just got the same call from a woman named Wendy saying i own over $1000.00 in payday loans. She said i was going to get served to be taken to court. She asked that i make an arrangement over the phone now, and that nothing would happen if i did.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

got a call from this number and the message said there was a petition signed and to call him back  or have my lawyer call them and then call was cut short then received call from my son from the same number saying the same thing we googled this number and got this site so it appears they are a scam

Saying his name was Chris William calling from Becker Office and his extention was 324.  Said I did a loan of up to 2000.00 and that I did recieve it to my bank and I've stoped making payments and that I have 1100.00 more to pay and that I could settle it with them or go to court.  I tell him about fraud and to have him mail me the documents that I have never did that kind of loan. So I asked him for his name, where he is calling from and where located.  He stated he is located in New York.   Then when I went back to asking where my loan was from he tells me it was from Ben something loan company.  I go and tell him that I've never ever loaned up to 2000.00 ever and he turns around and tells me, "no, the loan was in a smaller amount and that it grew to the 1100.00 amount because I wasn't making payments."  I told him I thought you said I loaned a 2000.00 amount he goes and tries to turn it around and I tell him to mail everything to me and make up an excuse to hang up.

Got a call Sat. morning from the "Becker Group"  this has got to be a scam.

Same thing, I got a call from a private #. I didn't answer but they left a message...they said they were from Becker group and my case # was blah blah blah....I never received a pay day loan either.

Legitimate companies respect DNC. Expecting scumbag law breakers like "The Becker Group" to respect it is like expecting the getaway driver in a bank robbery to observe the speed limit. Ain't gonna happen.

I got a call from 844-506-6289 from a Mrs. Kingston from Hartford Management on my personal and work cell phones as well as my office phone stating that I have a petition filed against me.  I don't owe anyone any money and any legitimate debtors are aware of my current information.  I refuse to call them back and plan to file a complaint with the local police.

This number repeatedly calls me saying I owe money, etc and now calling my parents home phone. I don't appreciate it when I've never heard of them and have not received anything in the mail. Please report these people.

You can report them to your state's attorney general's office as well as the "do not call" list..

Nothing in writing - 99.99% scam.  Giving information to your parents (third party) - illegal.

got a call from "Mr. Maxwell" he stated the county i live in and said i needed a representing attorney his exact words " Failure to contact me will result in further actions" in my County

Also recieved call from a 6144080113 asking for names i dont know. they were rude and even insulted me about my 14 month old daughter in the background. its completely unprofessional and unacceptable. one location i managed to pull is just east of victorian village in Columbus Ohio
