Anonymous debt collector harassment

Anonymous "debt collector" call on my in-law's phone? They said they moving forward with litigation but never rec'd a call on MY phone or any type of notice myself. Left a case # but DID NOT identify themselves.

OK, lets start with the phone number. 844 is not a US or Canadian Area code. This is a scam artist trying to pretend to be a "law firm" with "case numbers". They want to try to get your credit card number. Do not answer their calls, give them money or your credit or debit card numbers. They don't leave a name, business name, address, or any information that would identify them, or where they are. That should tell you all you need to know. They also block their phone number from caller ID, which tells you that either they are a collection agency or a criminal. Not much difference.

Told me I was being served with a civil suit  called from blocked number then gave me 844 number. Trinity counsel firm is who they say they're from

Called from a person named Laura from a blocked number. She left a message and said this firm is trying to contact me. No firm name provided. Number 844-531-9735. She called with another phone number while I was on hold, and silent, refusing to talk to her. The other number she called from - 817-768-7373

Got a call, my ex husband and mother also got a call with a case number and this phone number. Just said her name was Lexi and her firm was trying to contact me.

Called saying they have a complaint I need to file or something like that. Called blocked said his name was Mike jones and gave me this number to call back

Private Caller ID. Called saying that they are a Firm regarding a Bank account. Contacts sisters, brothers, EVERYONE trying to get to you with a reference number. They are rude individuals and try to make you "pay" your debt to them. SCAM!

I'm a consumer attorney trying to get info to sue this company. DO NOT give them money. Even if this were a legitimate collection, they are violating multiple collection laws in the way they are attempting to collect.

Do you know if this is a legitimate company or not ?

The number varies (I imagine it's not difficult to change), but the name remains the same. Trinity Counsel Firm, left a message stating I have a judgment filed against me and need to call them immediately. When I call back they say they're a litigation firm and need to confirm my details before giving me any information on my "case" (but they didn't mind leaving a message saying I was in trouble).
RED FLAGS:
Their address is actually a postal annex. Their website states nothing about what services they offer. They have NO online presence. They state that they have an attorney, but nothing of this nature is listed on their site (what attorney isn't trying to advertise?). The "company" email is RTILLEY19@yahoo.com

In order to have a judgement against you you would have had to have been properly served, had a court hearing, and then lost the case.  But the good news is that since they talked to you, they are now required to do this by law:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Nothing on BBB and nothing with the California Secretary of State, that I can find.

So far as I can see it is not.  I can't find any record of it with the California Secretary of State, nor does the BBB have anything on it.  Looks like a mail drop location at a Temecula CAlifornia Mall.

If they are claiming a debt, demand a debt validation letter be sent you by US mail. E-mail no good.  They won't do this so simply ignore the calls and block them.
