Chase Bank supposedly called. The number left on my answering machine is NOT on the back of the credit card so I did not return the call. Glad I didn't!!!

I received a voice message with a request to call 1-844-540-8025 ext 6571191 for a fraud dispute at Chase.  The message was from a female with a foreign accent.  When I called the number, I got a voice mailbox with a man's voice.  I hung up and called the number on the back of my credit card.  It turns out Chase had tried to call me regarding a fraud dispute.  This call was valid.

I received a voice message with a request to call 1-844-540-8025 ext 6571260 for an "inquiry" about my Chase credit card account. The woman had an Indian accent and identified herself as Rianne Franklin. When I returned the call I was immediately sent to the voice mailbox of someone with a male voice who said he was from Mumbai. I had not made any recent inquiries, and the experience did not feel right, so I let it go. The next day I received another call from Rianne Franklin who said she represented Chase in a dispute I had about a charge to a water purifier company. I did in fact dispute a charge over a month ago and Chase credited my account for the disputed amount. Ms. Franklin said that the company contested the dispute. I told her that the water filters that we did not want were returned to the company and that a representative said there would be no charge as long as the filters were returned. Ms. Franklin told me that I should get some documentation about that and get back to her. So I got the USPS tracking number for the returned filters and called her number. I got the same male voice saying he was from Mumbai. So I Googled the number and found this site. Upon calling the Chase number on the back of my card, the representative said that the dispute had already been settled. My sense is that the Indian Chase representative was legitimate, but I am glad I resolved the issue through the regular Chase number.

FAKE! FRAUD! Call came in and appeared to be from the 800 number associated with Chase banking. African accent, but said she was from India when I asked what country from which she was calling. Then I asked straight to the point, "Is something wrong with my account? Is there a concern of fraud? Is there a problem? A dipsute? Or is this just a marketing call?" She said, "Oh no nothing like that, but we need..." and before she could finish that sentence, I told her then there was no reason for CHASE to call me, and there is nothing she needs. Additionally I said I did not have time, and to call back some other time.

She called again a day later and left a message with an extension to call her at - but the voice was different this time in the voice mail. She sounded more middle-eastern, and higher-pitched. The number was 844-540-8025. She gave a 7-digit extension starting with a 6, HOWEVER... I'm not posting what that extension was, because that extension will have a log as to whom they called and when, and they can then successfully identify you by a back-trace from this site in conjunction with the extension number and time/info about the call.

So my suggestion for new reports on this number; do NOT convey the extension number. Others have done so above, but it's not sueggested. Doing so confirms to the PHISHING callers who/what/when and that their info is correct if they see this site even if not specifically identifiable.

If you get a call from them, simply tell them immediately you do NOT have a Chase account. Anyone really calling from Chase would then be confused and refer to their records for verification. Any scammer simply won't call back.

I suspected this was not actually Chase although the young lady sounded very professional.  The tip off was that she was responding to my inquiry.  I had not made any inquiry so decided to do a reverse number lookup - no luck,  Then I just put the number into a search and saw the comments about this being bogus.  My instincts helped here, but I know that my mother would easily have fallen for this if she had a Chase card.

Caller claimed to be from Chase card services and left a this number and a 7 digit extension to return the call.  I called 1-800-524-3880 (number on back of card) and they confirmed that this was a call from them, and had information for me.

I got the call message too.  It is legitimate.  They knew exactly what charge I had disputed and took care of it.  They did not ask me for my account number or any other info besides my name.

I got the distinct impression this is an offshore organization in India (Mumbai) used by fraudulent CC merchants who try to intimidate you into agreeing to pay disputed Chase CC transactions. The merchant in my case was Centro Hispano Educativo. I called Chase too and they told me this was not their number.

Received 2 calls from this number claiming to be from chase card services.  I called the 800 number on the back of my phone and spoke with the security department who verified THIS NUMBER IS NOT FROM CHASE and is a scam looking to get my card number.  Always call the 800 number on your card!

Received Call from an UNKNOWN and went to check the voice mail given. It was a man with a heavy accent regarding a inquiry from Chase. He asked to call him back at 1 (844) 540-8025 ex 6571315. I found this a little odd so I came for googles help and I saw this webpage. Took the advice on calling the number on the back of my card and sure enough the people from Chase told me that this number is not listed on any of their calling numbers. THESE ARE PEOPLE THAT WANT YOU ACCOUNT NUMBER!!!!!! DO NOT CALL THOSE PEOPLE BACK!!!!!!! Call chase (number behind your card) right away once you receive this call.

I just recieved a call from 1-800-935-9935 and it went to voicemail as I am at work. I checked my voicemail and recieved a message from some Eastern woman. She was speaking so fast I had to replay te message like 7 times to get her phone number and extension down right. I called the number and it went to voicemail with a different name on it. Her last name was Sherma and the Voicemail said Steve. So i suspected something odd. I found this website which blew my mind because the number calling me was a Legit Chase number, the same on the back of my card. Had I answered who knows what may have happened. I called Chase immediately and the stated this number is not affiliated with them at all if I do call them back do not give them any personal information. They already had my first name, middle inital and last name. This is freaky. Please watch out!!!!

    THIS IS NOT A SCAM:
I received a phone call regarding a charge I had disputed on my credit card. Called, and everything seemed legit-they other person knew the charge, the merchant with the dispute and the amount. They asked for my ss number and date of birth, which I provided. I asked to remove the dispute as the merchant agreed to refund the amount himself.

I got worried later as I realized this was not the regular Chase number, and freaked out when I found all these comments at this and other websites.

Called Chase at the number at my credit card. They did not know this number. HOWEVER, they did see that there was contact with me regarding my cc today, and after I inquired further they saw that the activity was to remove the dispute (exactly what I had asked) and that as personal info they had asked for my ss number and date of birth. Therefore it is 100% legit.

Most people probably don't figure it out when you call Chase cause you don't make a special request and therefore they can't confirm it was them-I asked them to cancel the dispute and that was actually shown on my credit card account. I also requested they disclose that this number is associated with them to avoid all the panic.

Just because the number is legit doesn't mean the caller is. Too easy to spoof caller ID, play it safe and call back directly. Never give info to cold callers!

received a call with voice message saying to call this number (844-540-8025) regarding recent Chase card activity.  I called the Chase main 800 and also Chase Fraud dept. Both indicated this is not a legitimate number for Chase.  They also said any legitimate calls made from Chase would also be notated in the file.

Very similar to what other people reported. Received a call with the caller ID as "Unknown" and let it go to voicemail. Message was a guy with an Indian accent saying he was calling from Chase Card Services about my recent inquiry. He let a call back number 844-540-8025 and extension 6571317 M-F. It might be legit.......but seems like a SCAM!
