Called my home number at 8:08 AM. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. Female voice left a message. This is Wakefield and Associates. This is a debt collection call. Call back at 888-582-3359. I do not have any delinquent accounts. This is apparently a scam.

Well known around here a criminal organization that violated Federal and State Collection Laws.  See my report on page 2 that tells you everything you need to know, to do, how to make the calls stop, where to report them to, and how to make them pay you.

I had the same thing happen to me. Asked me to verify the last 4 of my social, my name, and address.. I told them I'm not verifying [***] and hung up. Kinda scared me and I have no idea who this is!!

Person called and asked if (name) was available. When I said no because they had the wrong number, the lady continued to ask me if I knew (name). Finally I just hung up and blocked the number.

Called & asked for me.  I verified that it was me.  Asked me to confirm the last 4 of my social & i told her i wasn't comfortable doing that over the phone and hung up.

called this am. answering machine got it . all she said twice was hello. caller id says its a toll free call. she didnt address who she was or nothing. i dont answer noone when i dont know the number or a toll free. from the reading of these other replies of this phone number i did the right thing by not answering

Received first voicemail about 24 August and a second call on 13 September.  Both messages lasted about 15 seconds.  First message was very hard to hear, with unclear name or organization left by caller, but saying something about an "appointment," and saying that this was a call from a debt collector.  The second message from a different person, who said her name was Jan (unclear) from Wakefield? or Lakefield? Associates,and this was in reference to a debt collection.

They keep calling and before I can even look at the number they hang up!

They called three times in three days. Finally answered. Asked if I was available. Said no that I was my wife and to tell me what's going on. Said he was calling from Lakefield and associates. Wouldn't tell me if he was a debt collector, or anything else. Said its not an emergency but it was important and refused to tell me anything except to have me call back the number. Scaaaaaaam

I did not answer the phone and they left a voice message to return the call, they left the phone number and the name of the company , When I searched for the company on Google I found in "Better Business Bureau" webside that apparently the company is no longer in business.

844-554-0398 called with nothing showing on caller id left a corny voicemal about debt collection and to call another # 888-582-3359 Wakefield& Associates . these numbers have been blocked! I do not have any debts and I agree with George in above message, Do people actually continue to fall for these shenanagans People STOP answering these calls from numbers U don't recognize It's not going to stop them from doing it it only puts yur number as a working number for them to sell to some other crooks!

Yes, they are debt collectors.  However the rest of your post is nothing more then urban myth and rumor.

Caller had a thick accent. Only understood 10% of the message they left. Couldn’t tell what it was about.

I have receive many calls from this number. I answered once and they had all my information all I need to do was verify that is when I hung up.
