- john replies to DavidGoing through the same thing as you their address is 1030 15th Street NW Sre.#B1-111 Washington DC 20005
- Chris replies to DavidA Mr. Pearson has been calling me as well on a pay day loan I do not owe. I keep telling him I do not owe and he's barking up the wrong tree for money I do not have any. He calls sometimes 3x a day saying he's going to forward it to the prosecuting attorney and keeps call me from my local county court house number. When I asked him how he was using that number he said his call was forwarded through them. At 5:44pm when they close at 4:30 yeah right! He still won't stop harassing me.
- Mike EmersonThey continue to call and leave a message, looking for a relative and say it is in regard to a collection. I called back once and told them to remove me from their calling list. They continue to call.

- Mike Emerson replies to qwerty| 1 replyIt's not that easy. Every time they call it is from a different number. Blocking ONE number does not help.
- Tygerkat replies to Mike EmersonBlocking one number may not help but a lot of call blockers let you block entire area codes and that certainly would help.
- unhappySomeone from this number keeps repeatedly calling and saying that someone is using my social security number trying to commit fraud, today I called back number and got a person identifying himself as Rob Jones. He started acting very aggressive wanting personal information and when I asked him why he said I had not fulfilled a matter and he was supposed to take care of it. I told him I would give him no information because as far as I knew he was trying to commit fraud. He asked if I was happy with the weather in California and he has been here and would probably be here again soon...sounds a bit like a threat. If I heard him correctly he said enjoy it while you can...I don't know who these people are but they knew I lived in California, although I would highly advise them to not show up unannounced on my property.

- Kristin| 1 replyA guy named Rob from evergreen acquisition called my mother, brother and father today. I tried calling the number but no answer. He wouldn't give information to them other than something about fraud. I need to find out if this is real or not?
- Caller: Rob
- BigA replies to KristinNo, the fraud part says it all. He is the one who is the fraud.
They call family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.
This is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number. Please note that process servers do not ever call ahead. That way you can’t dodge them.

Please note that on page 1 of this thread CWG40 has given you the information you need to do this:
You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/
http://www.consumeradvocates.org/find-an-atto ... tates_value=All - Mary CThey've called me on a few occasions...same modus operandi as the other comments...but their 'story' to me is a bit different. The message informs me that I may have been the victim of potential Identity Theft as my address has been used for what might be a fraudulent request to set up credit & that I need call them to verify my location etc. Again they give a record #. It all sounded v. suspect as I would expect if it was legit I would be receiving written information too...not just pre-recorded messages via phone! So I've been ignoring them. Hopefully someone will finally do something about them.
