Caller identifies themselves as MJR.  They are a Canadian debt collector that does collections for TD and Scotiabank.  Most of their agents went to 'Rude School'

How did these guys leave me a message but they did not leave their number on my incoming calls page. The phone did not ring. I am not calling them back as I have no debt but it is interesting.

Hello all, anonymouse here. And yes, MOUSE.   These people called me, I answered, went to a LIVE agent, who, once I said yes that's my.... *instantly forwarded to someone's voicemail*..... yup, nope. NOT leaving a message. YOU called me, screw you.    Seems this group does NOT know how to operate at all. You get a live person, you shouldn't be forwarded to a freakin' VOICEMAIL..... with no idea for the reason of the call.

Also, if this is regarding Scotiabank Visa, I have been paying my bill.... so no idea how these rats get the info.

This number has been calling me 2x a day for a couple weeks now. Never leaves a message or anything. Apparently it's from Scotiabank but I've never had a bank account with them. Seems fishy like a possible scam?

They sent me a letter in regards to my Scotiabank Visa which I've been paying and made arrangement with.  So I'm going to continue to pay Scotiabank and ignore them because it all sounded a little shady.  They wanted info from me and I'm not about to give it out.  If Scotiabank is using them...they should inform me.

Too much silence at the other end of the phone.  I don't give it long with out of town numbers before hanging up anymore... too bad.

They are a licensed and agressive collection agency. They are calling because you have outstanding debts for a long time. They call from fake numbers and can have their call not show on your caller ID. If they have your phone number they know where you live and can tell if you have a car. They can repossess your car and garnishee your bank account. Pay your debts and you won’t hear from them. They also have been known to call your employer.

They have been calling my business for years.  Severals times I have called back telling them they have the wrong number.  They keep calling and asking for Abigail.  They also keep telling me that they are taking my name off the list.

This comment sounds like something an MJR rep would say... In extreme cases only can they garnish wages, repossess cars etc. If you know your rights as a consumer they will do nothing of the sort. It cost way to much money to collect utilizing law full means, so instead they harass. This is money that banks have likely already written off. Never give into a collection agency. Never give them anything in writing. or agree to anything. They will threaten left, right and center. There is a 2 year collecting clause on personal debt. Read up on it and get informed..

me as well.  I think they are probably trying to track down my ex (from 10 years ago)!  I don't have the time to wait on the line and listen to their crappy music to speak to an actual person so I can tell them to stop calling me!

Constant calls all hours of the day but any time I answer there's either silence or they just hang up. I had had enough so decided to do the same to them.  I constantly called this number and would either give them the silent treatment or would just hang up.  Surprisingly they didn't like it either and considered it harassment. HA!  I think everyone who has been harassed by this number should do the same.

Very rude debt Collector call you 20 times a day. Is it legal ? Harassment?

I have a burner phone for about 10 years now.  A few years ago, I kept getting repeat calls from a collection agency on that phone for someone else.  I informed them they had the wrong number and was told they would mark it down as the wrong number.  I recently started getting calls from this number but I never answer 800 numbers. One of the messages on my voice mail from this number was for the same wrong name as the calls I got years ago.  They call repeatedly on a daily basis.  When I answer I get dead air or music.

First phone call, put me on hold immediately after I answered. Second phone call, an incompetent woman asked me for the wrong person and got mad at me when I was confused. Verbally abused me by saying I was deaf because I asked her to repeat herself. Also refused to tell me what company was calling me.
