Keep leaving messages on my answering machine saying I won a car or a large sum of cash. I finally called back and called the girl a [***] and told her to [***]. She told me I shouldn't talk to her that way, and I told her to stop calling me, and she could go f_ck herself. I feel like calling her every 10 minutes and repeating the same thing.
BTW- I pressed *67 before the number so it came up with no call number on their end...

I was left a message on my answering machine from a girl named Cindy. She stated I had won an SUV or $25,000 in cash & to call her at 844-653-6232 extension #797. Called the number & just got a voice mail. Left a message that I thought this was a scam! Hope I didn't do the wrong thing by calling back!

I received a telephone message in January of 2016 on my home answering machine from a representative of "Win-A-Car Sweepstakes", stating that I'd won an SUV or $25,000 in Cash and to please call back at the Toll Free telephone number 844-653-6232 ext 797.  I telephoned information at Time/Warner Cable (my telephone provider) to check that the telephone number is toll free.  The representative told me that the 844 exchange does reflect that it is a toll-free number.  I then asked her to check and provide the name of the company with which that telephone number is associated.  She said she checked and couldn't find a company associated with that telephone number in their directory.  I asked if she could check to see who is associated with that telephone number, whether an individual or otherwise.  She said she could not and that the only way to know would be to call the number.  I did so and reached a person.  I asked her what company she was with.  She responded that she was with a "distribution center".  I persisted and asked her to tell me the name of the company to which the distribution center belonged.  My phone call was then disconnected, which I took to mean that she hung up the phone.

I got the same call from Cindy. Using *67 I called back and got a person named Lauren. Lauren said I was one of 50 winners. The grand prize is $25,000 and "there is an SUV involved," whatever that means. But all other winners supposedly get a prize of some kind such as an airline ticket or a $100 credit for a restaurant. She said the company she was calling from is called "Prize Notification Center." She said I would have to show up in Tarrytown NY tonight or in the next two days and sit through a presentation by a new travel company called "Timeless Connections" who are doing the promotion as a way of getting off the ground. Supposedly there are 50 winners. Each person gets a ticket, scrapes off a number, and immediately sees what prize she/he won. The only person who does not walk away with a prize is the grand prize winner of the SUV who is notified in 3 to 5 days. A car dealership convenient to the winner's home is chosen to pick up the car. To end the call, I said I would have to discuss this with my husband and would call back. She gave me her cell phone number (315 area code, Syracuse) and an alphanumeric code to use when I called back. First of all, what brand new company with no cash flow would lay out this kind of money (50 expensive prizes, add it up) to attract business? Secondly, what kind of legitimate company is open at night hoping a few people might fall for this and come in for a presentation? According to Lauren, tonight is the first time any prizes are being awarded. I told her I'd seen blog posts from people who have received calls since the beginning of January, so how could this be the first night? She said something like "well, we're trying to get 50 people and we have to give people advance notice, so obviously we've been making calls for a while." On another blog people report calls from a different 844 phone number with all the same details as this. "Timeless Connections" sometimes has a slightly different name. People were told to go to 200 White Plains Road in Tarrytown that very night. So somebody's giving a presentation for the one or two people who actually show up every single night? A legitimate company would do that?  Lauren actually said, "Don't worry. This isn't a telemarketer and it's not a time-share presentation." Whatever it is, they're obviously trying to sell SOMETHING. Sorry, not interested!!!  I hope this information is helpful.
