it is a collection agency that is used by the Ontario government, usually for past due student loans, past due taxes or other forms of provincial funding. CALL THEM BACK AND ARRAMGE A PAYMENT SCHEDULE. IT ONLY GETS WORSE IF YOU DONT.

Well I will say this they where very convincing! But I have never had a Credit Card or loan in my life I bought my truck cash my house cash and my suv cash same with our sleds and bikes pay my taxes and some!!! But yet I get a call from this number sounds convincing but I called them back and they where a call agency looking for the previous owner of my cellar number! But one thing I must say if you are running from debt or owe money figure out how to pay it some how my good friend Kyle ran all his cards up and borrowing money for cars house ect and he now lives in a 2 bedroom apartment from living in a beautiful 6 BDR house in a matter of months....

Called but didn't leave a message and when I tried calling them back, they just hung up right away. Not sure what this number is but I don't owe any money to debt collectors so it's probably some scam

The government does not call people- they send letters, moron.

they left a message on our answering machine stating a person's name that we don't even know! They said they were fro the Ontario Government and please call 1-844-675-0579 ext -3503 as soon as possible.

the moment a debt collector or more importantly the one who is owed SELLS the debt it is over...the debt company has zero standing...unless your stupid enough to start paying them for a debt they sold and then wrote off

***Government Desperate For Cash. Wow read this one***
  Talk about hard up. We called EOS back and went through the Verification process. These guys are legit and yes a collection agency.
  After going thru the verification the lady explained our debt. Turns out it was a cheque we must have wrote to the Ministry for a speeding ticket That bounced.

  The amount of the cheque was $80 and the year was written was 1990! Yes 1990. No internet. No cell phones. The information they had about us was jumbled blended between my wife and I. They had her name and my birthday. But they had enough to reach us on her cell. They have the cheque still and are sending us a copy which be cool to see.
  Bottom line is they must be needing money if they are going thru old filling cabinets looking for bad debt. Either way I guess we are caught red handed now and need to pay the $80 before they enter it on to our credit rating.

And frequently they call the wrong person on an old number yet still harass them!! Illegal FYI

These idiots keep calling my cell number looking to collect on a credit card that was my dad's, he died THREE YEARS AGO. How they even got my cell number is beyond me. So not legal!! I am not responsible for someone else's debts even if I am related to them!

Total scam. Claim to be acting on behalf of ministry but they won't send me anything in writing to prove who they are? I assume I would be mailed something if I owed anyone money. Do not trust these people. They will steal your identity.

They call everyday, just say “this is EOS Canada”. The person never states who they are calling for nor identifies themselves nor gives a file number.  I have nothing in collections.   Just block the number and DO NOT interact with them!  SCAM!!

This number has been calling me twice a day BUT never leaves a message and only waits till the second ring then hangs up. I do have debt but I get letters in the mail every few months for my student debt, NOT a phone call.

They call me at least 5 times a day. I do not owe them or owe any one else a dime. They keep calling me anyway. i already talked to them 4 times and they say they removed my name from their list. 2 or 3 days later they start calling again. i have decided not to get bother, they just go to my message system leaving blank messages & i clean them in evening. Its becoming a routine.

Moved to a new city and got a new home phone number. A couple days later we got a message from these folks looking for someone named Kenneth Kay and leaving reference #4868998. They claim to be a company calling on behalf of the Ministry of Finance.  I called them and left them a message telling them they've got the wrong number.  We'll see what happens.

Most likely what will happen is that you will get more calls asking for "Kenneth Kay".  Debt collectors are notorious for not believing people when they are told they have a wrong number.
In that case, you will have to turn "Some Collection Agency" into a real name, along with a mailing address and send them a "Not Me/Cease Calling" letter via Registered Mail (pay the little extra to get a hard copy of the receipt signature, in case you want to go to court should they fail to comply).

As a "heads up", even if they acknowledge your message and stop calling you, it does not mean that they will make note of it on the paperwork of the debt if they cannot collect on it and sell it to another debt collector.  So, a year or so from now you may again be getting calls from a different debt collector asking for "Kenneth Kay".
