Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Two calls today from this number...I checked the number on this site and found disturbing information concerning
this so-called business and their collecting strategy!   Read a few of the complaints filed with the MA BBB and they
are scary, to say the least.  We seem to have no protection from these data scavengers who constantly search for and
use our phone numbers for people to irritate!!

844-704-9099 call me for months, today is the only day that I pick up the phone.  She told me that she have a important message about me , and she check my name , DOB ect.   She know everything about me.  That's odd so I end the call.  Wound who they really are.

Beware area code 844 is a toll free scam area code.  Any call coming from this area code is a scam to get personal information or most calls are threatening people into paying bogus debts.  The one's from number in question, they threaten to give you a judgment and ruin your credit if you don't pay your debt, and tell you  the debt is for a high amount of 5k, 10k, etc but you can settle the debt for half that amount if you send payment right away.  Usually they ask you to purchase a green dot card or wire the funds thru western union. (Both big red flags).  A lot of elderly people are being targeted, as well as immigrants with language barriers.

Caller asked for my husband. They would not identify themselves. They said it was a private matter

Got 2 calls from them saying they were on a recorded line asking for an April they gave a last name. I;m not April and only April I know is 3 years old. told them they had a wrong number again and to please remove my number. Will see if they do that.

Unlimited amounts of call volume to my phone refuses to stop calling or opt me out of service harassing and hanging up and refused to stop calling

They call at least once a day for about a month, today I pick up for the first time. No answer then they hang up

they call me every day, i picked up once last month and they had all my info asked for the last 4 of my SS and said i owed money to a community college i went to. I said i wanted to handle if through the school and told them to stop calling. I called the school to address the issue and they didnt pick up, i left a voicemail and never answered my voicemail... the 844 number still calls and never leaves a voicemail. idk if its a scam or what. But i really dont want to answer, if its so important why dont they leave a voicemail????

This number has called me for months -- what can we do to stop this?  I am on the no-call list, that does not seem to help.

No voicemail - called back - said they are EOS CCA - I said that tells me nothing - they asked for _ _ _ _. Not me. I said, “You called me. Did not leave a voicemail. I called you back, (waited on hold a few minutes). I am not going to discuss anything. No way.. Shady!” These techniques of reaching people for whatever reason are completely unacceptable and unprofessional. The reps demeanor was a bit snide. I do not talk to snide. I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS AGENCY THE TIME OF DAY. NO WAY!

Left no message. I have nothing in collections. All student loans were paid in full years ago

They called with all my old information saying I owe a debt of $58 because I didn’t return my plate to NC, which was returned over a year and a half ago. They sounded so legit it’s concerning.
