Some call me from 951-789-3088 from Doc Services telling me to call this number with a reference number.844-712-8365. I called they stated I had an account fro 12 years ago they were filing suit on. Then I got a call from Brenda at 818-334-2309 when I call any of  the numbers I cannot locate who is really calling me about a legal issue. I think this is bogus......

Received a call from 541-633-4681 (Bend Oregon) number asking for my daughter.  The woman reported that she had been trying to get in touch with my daughter, but daughter had not called her back.  She asked for me to let my daughter know that she needed to call 844-712-8365 and gave me a reference number . Talked to daughter who told me it was a scam.  Just for kicks I called the number and pretended to be my daughter.  The woman I spoke with reported there was an outstanding debt owed to a bank from 2009. The woman was calling from Lincoln prelitagation firm in Los Angeles.  She asked for my daughter's SSN. I said I didn't have it with me, but she asked if I could give her a partial number.  I  said I didn't remember the number. Anyway she actually gave me part of the SSN. RED FLAG. I  don't know if that was my daughter's correct number.  I don't think it was.  She gave me a few options for me to consider and asked me to contact her by Friday. So be careful if you receive a call like this.

Received a call from 914-373-2305(Ossining, NY) and the caller's name was Lisa Williams.  She stated that documents are set to be delivered to me at my address for Monday, 7/24 between 9a-3p (after telling me that there have been two (2) attempts have been tried with no success).   When I attempted to call the 914# back,"the # you have dialed had been disconnected".  When I called the 844#, I spoke to Alex Ramirez (supposedly from Lincoln & Associates) who explained that I am in "Breach of Contract" from August, 2007 and then proceed to tell me that the documents will be delivered at day at any time. And to just wait for the document delivery and my court date and give all my explanations to the court.  That amount to be collected was $3467.63, that my paycheck would be garnishered, bank account confiscated and that all monies due would need to be paid, ASAP.

They called my close friend that has not direct relations to me and stated that I needed to give them a call (from the AIO Group) or legal documents are going to be released about me, They provided him the call back number 844-712-8365 and provided a case number. So I called, I can't remember the callers name since I was already frustrated. This was in regards to a 13 year old bank debt that I did not admin to on the phone or provided details. This debt is far over statute of limitations 6 years according to that states law. However he went on to tell me that i singed a tolling agreement which the debt can be collected after that limit, i still did not own up to this btw... I don't remember singing anything. The called went on to state that if and when this is processed through he courts my accounts can be seized I will own up to 5x the amount, which sounds fishy and unconstitutional. I just gave up with the caller and I will be calling that states attorney general. This is utter BS.

This is the "process server" scam.  In any case, you should read the following:

One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money.  They often call people that have never even been associated with you because they get erroneous information off of the internet.

They will use the words “Mediator”, “Arbitrator”, “Law Office” or claim that they are a “Lawyer or Paralegal” to make you believe that they are something other than a debt collector want-a-be and that they don’t have to follow Federal and State collection laws, even though they do have to follow those laws.  They also tell you that if you fail to call them back you are "waiving your right to council" or that “the case will proceed without you” which is pretty much nothing but hogwash.  They tell you that they need a “statement” from you regarding the complaint and if you don’t call back they “wish you good luck as things unfold”. They use the phrase “consider yourself notified/served” or “govern yourself accordingly” a lot, something they should do themselves.
They mention that they have received a Fax document, to create the sense of urgency and tell you that they are a “process server”. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (with a made up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work they need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and have to be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there is actually a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Same deal here - called a buddy of mine claiming an urgent legal matter needed attended to. He called me in somewhat of a panic for me stating he hoped everything was alright. I calmly called them with my "case" number lol. They had my name misspelled and only a portion of my soc sec # and were asking me for my entire # or any portion that I could provide. They had an address that I had not lived at for a decade and a debt that had been satisfied LONG ago as well. I started probing with some of my own questions. I asked "Emily" why my name was misspelled in a legal dispute. She could provide no answer then asked my how to spell my last name. I giggled and gave her a false spelling. Called back after our conversation from multiple different numbers that are disconnected when I tried to call them back. Called my wife as well trying to scare her. These people are the lowest of the low. Beware - THIS IS A DEFINITE SCAM -

    Ms. V*****,
As discussed, I am providing you with the information requested during our conversation. Our client has considered a second proposal which would eliminate litigation and allow for payment as an option to resolve. The payment proposal would be to negotiate the balance and settlement in full.
You will have 1 day to consider and accept the offer. Once an agreement is made we will send you a contract that would have to be signed and emailed back to my office. Please email or contact my office to discuss the options that are available to you.  This will be our final attempt to grant you the opportunity to fulfill your obligations without default. I look forward to hearing from you.

I told her she was crazy and to send me a letter through the US postal service. She then just wished me luck and said enjoy your day in court.

Just received a call asking me to call #844-712-8365. Every time I tried calling it rang and then a voicemail came on asking to leave a contact number with a case number. She claimed it was a case from where my parents lived and didn't want me to miss my court date. Sounded crazy and not legit. Tried calling the number that called which was #678-323-1467 and it isn't even a number. Blocking the number. Asked if I was a relation to who they were trying to reach. Glad I googled the number.

Local Utah area code number called MY SISTER looking for me, cited 5-digit reference number, left voicemail. My sis' voicemail states HER name btw. Female voice, no mention of company name, saying to call back at a different number ASAP, 844-712-7365 - red flag.

Called number back today, rang for a bit, man picked up as "Legal Services" got the reference number wrong and it is for a different man with the same name as me, different middle initial, in Nevada no less.

Weird, scam. Local number they called from no longer in service.
