Same thing JUST happened to me.

They called work extension and cell phone asking for an updating address, claiming I owe money. They told me it was for criminal charges, which would never be the case for a debt owed. They also told me they are subpoena me. I told them fine but the kicker is then they call again and again. If they want to mail me something why don't they? I asked for license number which real debt collectors will give, the lady told me I was [***] and up on me. They sound like a bunch of ghetto people with an attitude. Total scam. Called cops they can't do anything because it's a fake number.

They're fake. No debt company is allowed to talk that way to people.
