- txlin27| 3 repliesThey sent a message from 883-713. It claimed to be about my Directv bill. It said to call 844-840-5186. When I did it sounded like someone from India. When he asked for my passcode I ended the call and called ATT about my directv. They said there was not a record of any one calling.
- Gail47This number texted to my cellphone pretending to be from DirectTV; said to call and enter code 8043. This is NOT a Direct TV number! I check with AT&T and they gave me the correct number to call to report this scammer.
- Gail47 replies to txlin27Same here; it came from 883773; about the Directv bill. It's a scam call.
- Carrie Clark-UrmanskiI don't know who called me.

AT&T Msg: Tech arriving 11/14 btwn 1PM-3PM. Install of service may take 4 hrs. Status: https://ufix.att.com/d/1621C651N0P0 Text STOP to opt out- Caller: Unknown/AT&T

- Markgot a text as well. chatted with ATT directly and they said to ignore and that it is a scam number. If you get this for att or directtv my recommendation is to call them directly and not to respond to the text.

- NicoleGot a text from 883-773 stating
"AT&T Free Msg: Tech to arrive 02/17 btwn 9AM–11AM. Install of servie 4 hrs. Keep appt? Text YES or NO. Text STOP to opt out of service"
First thing that tipped me off it was a scam was the misspelling. I called att and they said it was not them.
Later tonight I got a phone call from (800) 531-5000. I did not answer but it was a recording with a similar message but the time changed to 8 -12.- Caller: Scam - claimed to be att

- AshleyReceived a text from 883-773 that said "AT&T Free Msg: Tech to arrive by 4PM & may need 2 hrs to finish repair. Reply HELP if reschedule needed or visit att.com/ufix Text STOP to opt out"
I responded, saying "I didn't order a tech" and the response was "Hi. would you like to get a status or reschedule?" I tried again, with supposedly someone else. I said "I didn't order a tech" and they responded with "I can help you with that". I got a weird feeling about it when they started asking for my mobile telephone number, which they were already texting, and then that same text from earlier, "Hi. Would you like a status or reschedule?" came through. I said I was just going to call AT&T instead and they said " I respect your decision. However, if you allow I can also help you over chat." I said "No thanks. Your texts are coming through shady, so I'll be confirming if this is a scam or not." They responded with, "It is not a scam." They then talked about MyAt&T and then said, "Could you please provide the four digit Passcode associated with this account?" I would not provide it, so they "ended" the text session.- Caller: Claimed to be AT&T

- Caller: SAYS DIRECT TV
- Pamela L replies to AustinI got the exact same text message but the code to be entered was 9978. I contacted ATT and they are escalating it to check on it. They verified that my account only has ATT Uverse.

- Edna Langescam call from 883773, said it was from AT & T and to call becuase I have U-verse and Direct tv active on my account.

- klmReceived a call yesterday afternoon and let it go to voicemail. Claimed to be AT&T and said I had both U-verse and DirectTV active on my account and if this is incorrect please call 844-840-5186. They said to use MY 4 digit passcode which they provided (not my passcode). I figured it was a scam since I just received my u-verse bill (no DirectTV on it) and I knew AT&T would not leave my passcode on a voice recording.
- Caller: claimed to be AT&T
- AnonymGot the same text yesterday and today as several here:

I didn't call or text. I get a lot of robot calls and this is just the newest scam. A**butts- Caller: Supposedly ATT
