They called and did not introduce themselves.   They wanted to confirm information,  but refused to tell what information or why they were calling.

It seemed suspicious, but not sure.   Better safe then sorry.

What did you do with the package? My wife received one today that was never ordered and was wondering what we should do with it.

Called saying that they needed to verify my info about a test ordered by my doctor. My doctor did not order ANY tests so I believe this is a spoofed number situation, especially because they wanted me to give them info they already should have if was legit. Clearly this is a phishing scam call in my instance.

Prior to three weeks ago, I had never heard of Cologuard or Exact Sciences, but on 9/3/2026 I received a text message from “39153” (not a real phone number) claiming “Your health insurer partnered with Exact Sciences Laboratories to get you screen for colon cancer.”  That message made no sense because my health insurer is responsible for paying the insurance bills, not scheduling medical tests.  My doctor is the one who manages my medical care, and he provides annual colon screening kits which are processed internally at the medical center’s lab.  So, I texted STOP back to them to be removed from their texting list.  Then, in the late afternoon of 9/9/2026 a mystery box from Exact Sciences arrived via UPS on my porch.  It came with a QR code they wanted me to scan, but that is not possible with a flip phone.  Per instructions on the UPS website, I took the box over to the UPS Store and told them I was refusing the parcel and they could either return it to the sender or throw it in the trash.  On 9/14/2026 I missed a call from 844-870-8870, but when I tried listening to the message their robot voice had apparently not waited until after my greeting message so I had no idea who had called.  Talk about a pretty stupid way of setting up a telecommunications system if a company actually wants someone to call back!  On 9/18/2026 I received another call from the same number, which read “Exact Sciences” on the display, but I didn’t answer.  They left voice mail with the same cut off message.  They called twice more on Sunday afternoon, 9/20/2026, and left the same cut off message.  The number is now blocked on my phone.  I have no contractual relationship with this company (and after this experience never will).
