Received a text regarding documents en route to collect something. Scam. Scam. Scam. What a joke.

“[NAME IN CAPS], Documents are now in route for delivery. Estimated time of arrival is currently 4:19 pm. Signature required (21+ Photo ID). To stop Msg reply Stop. For help Contact 855-581-9257. This is an attempt to collect a balance. Any information obtained will be used for this purpose.”

Called the number in the message and a guy answered saying “Rob’s old phone, this is Rick”

IF "documents" were in route, you could NOT stop them.  Texts are also meaningless!!

Can’t find the 855 number anywhere and I’m not about to call it. Pretty funny though! Does this random stranger think I’m rushing home to wait by the door with my ID at 5:33? Hahaha

Name on text was a maiden name that I haven’t used in 25+ years. Pretty funny actually.

Its a scam i recieced message saying documents are in route i call the number and they woman says my name amd says you last 4 social number amd those numbers are not even the last of my social. ITS A SCAM i as as i said thats not my social wrong person they but me on hold

Contacted the 855 number to get a surprisingly american sounding woman. Provided a name (not mine) and amazingly she found my info. Gave me a social which I denied, asked for mine. I refused to give it. She told me I was going to jail for 1989.00 in payday loans that aren't paid and court was going to be in arizona on Friday. I laughed the whole time, every little thing I gave her she ran with. She would only accept a visa or mastercard over the phone, when I told her I couldn't do that she suggested i go buy a gift card and then provide that number. This was honeslty the most excitment I have had all day.... its a scam, don't fall

I just got a text from this number saying the same thing everyone is reporting.  I called the number when they asked me to cofirm my name I told them that my name was Jane Gloriana Villanueva and that I worked at the Marbella in Miami.  I guess they finally caught on cuz they hung up on me.

Same call as above. Scam!!!

Here’s the text message I received!  Stating I owe Advanced America money for a payday loan from 01/25/2016 yea right!  They did have my name, dob and a job that I haven’t worked at in years...nice try but send me to court haha!!!  Documents are in route for delivery.Time of arrival: 1:44pm.Signature required (21+ Photo ID).For help Contact 855-581-9617 .This is an attempt to collect a balance. Process servers delivering court papers will never call in advance.
Legitimate delivery companies (like FedEx, UPS and courier services ) will never give a to-the-minute delivery time (such as 1:44 pm, 4:19 pm or 5:33 pm above) since they know that traffic can be unpredictable.  The best you will get is a time window ("delivery between 12 and 6 pm") or a a rough estimate rounded to an hour ("delivery by 6:00 pm").  The times shown in the posts above are red-flags that this is a scam.

Forward suspicious texts to 7726 (SPAM) and your phone carrier can work to block the senders.  (Depending on your carrier you might get a follow-up text asking you for the number the text came from. (AT&T does this.))

Received a text message 8 minutes ago that stated all the info above with delivery time and document arriving. My name in caps and this is an attempt to collect a balance. I just reported it to 7726 and blocked the number in my phone

Just got a text message that documents in route and would arrive by 4:44 pm. Photo ID and signature required, etc etc

I called the number and the lady was yelling trying to explain, so i said i am not processing anything over the phone i need the documents physically. im not sure if its a scam but she sounded really rude and unprofessional

Just got the same text listed by everyone else here with my name and address an what not in it. LMAO made me laugh quite a bit.
Supposedly i owe quite a bit of money for some payday loans (never taken a payday loan in my life) was threatened with jail time for refusing to pay them and telling the lady i spoke with to go F*** herself with a sandpaper d***** and that id rather go to China and lick door knobs than comply with her demands.
Whoever these guys are they are really bad at what they do.
