Got the same and they tried to trick me by calling from a (415) dummy number which is my local area code. Luckily i have voicemail to text. Here it is "Hello my name is Angela Morris. You were not available today and this message is in regards to a complaint notice to your attention. Please immediately contact 844-886-3136 to update your address or contact information after the third faild attempt I am required to direct further attempts to your HR or payroll department on file. "

First, don't let these scare tactics scare you. By law if you ask for the company name, they have to give it to you. If you ask for proof via documentation, they have 7 days to provide that. Do NOT give them any information over the phone. If they refuse to provide you with any information, refuse to provide them as well. You will know they are frauds because of their refusal to provide you anything. This is with anyone.

I don't know where you got this "7 days" from, but that isn't what the law says.  The law requires them to do this if they either leave you a message or talk to you.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Now, once you send them a debt validation letter, there really is no time limit on how long they have to furnish it.

That being said, you won't get anything from these crooks, because this is simply an extortion attempt.
