8/29/19 15:12 PDT  Didn't answer because ID showed as "unknown" and last several calls received from 844 area code were the fun and games Dept of SS scam.  This one didn't leave a message and reading previous reports, this was another useless annoyance.

I just got a call from 844-886-4265 at 0749 on Labor Day monday 09/02/19 and when I answered, the guy said he was from ATT&T. I have NO SOLISATATION so it was probably a scammer.

"Steve" from AT&T's office in Mumbai trying to sell me DirectTV.  He just needed a bit more personal information . . .

left now message just hung up

Answered said "hello" 3-4 times no answer so I hung up. Called the number and it was answered AT&T. AT&T would have answered me when I said "hello" so I'm sure it was a telemarketer. The other day while waiting for an important call from my doctor's nurse I inadvertently answered a call & the guy with an accent was telling me my soc sec # was compromised and I wouldn't be receiving my checks.... Before he could finish I called him a dirty liar and hung up. For two days now my phone rings and my caller ID shows my own name and phone number! So they spoofed my number now & God knows who they're calling and showing my # on the caller id!!! They're good!!! But they will get caught eventually.

WOW!  Just got a call from them.  It was blocked...but about 15 minutes ago, a call came thru on our fax # from them.  Sigh!

I too got a phone call from this number.  Caller I.D. said "Anonymous" yet when I answered the phone the recorded message playback said:  "You've been kicked off this conference."  OH REALLY NOW?  I dialed *69, let that service handle the call back and I got another machine answering MY call.  This time... The second recorded SCAMMER answering service made the claim:  "Thank you for calling AT&T customer service.  If you're trying to reach (blah blah) press 1, 2 etc. B.S.  Definitely a business scammer now reported to the FTC.

Said he was from the promotional department of AT&T and wanted to give us a discount on our service. I said dandy - put it in writing and we'll take a look at it. Insisted that I listen to his spiel, and I noted that my wife (an attorney) was the one that had answered the phone - she agreed, in writing only, period. He hung up. This sounds like a disastrous scam - avoid this one like the plague!

Got the same AT&T scam.  Reporting to FTC

Multiple calls over several days and never leaves a message. Guess it can't be too important. Now it's blocked.
