called both cell and work numbers left voice mail. claims to be a private investigator with PR and associates requiring a statement from me for charges pending. If I or my attorney don't call back , good luck. SO tired of these stupid calls. Don't call back. I report these call to the FTC and to the FBI internet crimes division . It's a scam to extort money. Ignore.  PR and Associates isn't a real company,  is a moniker standing for a group of phone scammers.   They've been active for the last few years.   Standard garden-variety type.   I called the number out of curiosity and the [***] answered by saying "hello".  I then prompted him and asked him if this was PR and associates and then the guy hesitated and  barely acknowledged that "yeah" he was PR and Associates.   I started ragging him and then he reverted to a New York type accent so I'm pretty sure they are New York state common kitchen-table debt scammers.

Left a message that I was to respond to specific summons number and that server had been to my home yesterday and would be returning today. They didn't have my name correct and never showed up. I was working from home today. Must be some sort of scam.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

    Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
    (202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

Yes, one question.  How will doing that help the people who pay their bills and have never taken a payday loan out, but still get calls from criminals attempting to extort money from them?

no doubt there are scams in the world ... they cant hurt you through the phone... ask them for the name of the creditor... if its legitimate, they will provide a letter if you ask for one....as the consumer its our job to educate ourselves.....not just on 800 notes ......we all know what bills we owe.....don't be a sucker or a debtor and you'll have nothing to worry about

I just rec'd a voice mail on my cell from Erica Johnson of Metro Processing stating someone had been at my home already today and would be returning to my home and/or place of employment.  I am to have 2 forms of ID ready and no large dogs on the property.  If I had any questions I was to call 844-886-5598 and give Summons #DC495-806US.  I won't call the number unless I'm at home where I have an unlisted/private landline to call from!

They called me one time and refused to give me a call back number. They called a second time and finally gave me a phone number with an extension because I refused to talk to them at that moment. I called the number back and they hung up on me. That is not professional at all and it does not sound legit. Do not give them any information. They dont know anything unless you tell them

    FDCPA Rule 101--

This isn't a discussion as to whether or not people should "pay their bills"--

This is about their rights regarding the collection of debts.

    Thanks for playing.

How about the company calling people for alleged debts complies with federal debt collection laws?  Which means why don't they mail that debt validation letter showing that they own and have the legal right to collect said debt?  Oh, that's right - they can't - because there is no debt, or the debt isn't owed to you in the first place - DEBT COLLECTION 101.
