- AJJust got a msg from Mr. Carlson saying the samething that this is a legal matter and if it's not delt with I will be going to jail

- Jay replies to ValarieI also received this call from them today. A mr. carlson and it was a recording. I sent a letter in the mail to Jacobson and wright letting them know I dispute any debt with them and that if they do not send me proof of this debt in writing then in 30 days they have to stop calling me and if they post any disparaging remarks on my credit I will file criminal charges against them for fraud. This company is a scam. They don't ever send anything in writing and before they can submit any lawsuits or charges for anything they have to provide you proof in writing. It's the law. If they don't, then it is not valid. So in my case they haven't provided proof in writing of any debt they say I owe so they are to stop calling me. If they call me again, I will file charges and a complaint with the attorney general here in CA. But I don't think that it will do any good since they are in NY. that's how they get away with it. Jurisdiction issues. But we can contact the FBI since it is across state lines it makes it a federal case.

go to this website and it has a template form to mail them to address this or any debt collector situation. It is the legal way to handle it without an initial acquisition of having a lawyer.

First make the collection agency responsible for proving you owe an alleged debt still within the Statute of Limitations.
And then make them prove they are legally entitled to collect from you.
You will not receive this type of courtesy unless you demand it.
Restrict all correspondence to writing and keep a record of every type of documentation you receive from the collection agency. Send *everything* certified mail with return receipt requested to keep for your own records. This is crucial in providing accurate proof and documentation that you are trying to resolve the matter but the agency has thus far failed to prove you legitimately owe them anything.
All right, so you have the collection agency’s address. You’re pissed because these scavengers are making billions every year off the misery of others with their sleazy tactics. You’re ready to challenge them and stand up for your rights.
So now what?
Validation letter. This is the ultimate weapon in your arsenal to get rid of many unscrupulous debt collectors. After you’ve been contacted by a collection agency, you’ll want to force them to validate the debt to prove you actually owe them something, and that the debt hasn’t expired past the SoL.
Limited cease and desist. If these buggers will not stop calling, you can legally force them to by issuing a limited cease and desist request in writing (illustrated below)
Send a validation letter immediately by certified mail with return receipt requested. Here’s an example of a validation letter

Re: Acct # XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
Dear Scumbag Collector:
This letter is being sent to you in response to a notice sent to me on February 15, 2007. Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.
This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.
Please provide me with the following:
* What the money you say I owe is for;
* Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;
* Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;
* Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;
* Identify the original creditor;
* Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account
* Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state
* Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent
At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have reported invalidated information to any of the 3 major Credit Bureau’s (Equifax, Experian or TransUnion) this action might constitute fraud under both Federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found on any of my credit reports by your company or the company that you represent I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you for the following:
* Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
* Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
* Defamation of Character
If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.
Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.
If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.
Also include a limited cease and desist clause.
I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by USPS.
It would be advisable that you assure that your records are in order before I am forced to take legal action. This is an attempt to correct your records, any information obtained shall be used for that purpose.
Best Regards,

- Will not be scammed replies to Tired Still!If you call, us *67. I would answer and ask to take a message. They will tell you everything....not supposed to. Then, when they finish tell them that you are on to them, and that you are reporting them to your police department with ALL numbers they are calling from, and they in turn will be contacting the FBI. I have gotten probably 30 calls in 2 weeks. Finally, I answered and the guy represented himself as working for our local City Court Clerk's office. Thankfully, I had my wits about me and called him right back at the courthouse. Funny, no one from there had that name, in any department, and they told me clearly that they do not make calls like that AT ALL, and to please report it.
They are breaking the law in sooooo many ways! We need to all work together to stop them.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BANKING, CREDIT CARD, OR OTHER FINANCIAL INFORMATION!!! DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY!!!

- Maxine JohnsonI received a call from them today stating I own a debt and either myself or my attorney need to contact them at the 844-990-5776 number. It was a recording by the name of a Mr. Carlson.
- Caller: Mr. Carlson
- Call type: Debt collector
- Annoyed AF replies to SlimAgreed. This post is exactly how they spoke to my wife on the phone. They called her a lazy A**, go get a job, workmans comp, fat MF who needs to pay her bills. No "lawyers firm" would EVER talk to a client that way, and there would be something in the MAIL, not email or phone call, if you had a legal action against you. SCAM SCAM SCAM. They have called my phone and my wifes phone over 100 times, from an illegally sold debt, in which we have already settled with the company of the debt.
- KarenSo my caller id showed that the call was coming from a local number (513) area code and identified the caller as PNC bank. I have no accounts there so did not answer. They left message from Mr Carlson stating that I or my attorney of record needed to call back on 844-990-5776 and that he wished me the best of luck.

I called and I asked what this is all about and the person on the phone started with my name and social security last four numbers, when I asked what is this all about the person on the phone refused to asnwer. Finally when I would not answer him he stated that I start acting as adult and he us not going to lose his job because I refused to answer his question. On 2/16/18 received a email from this Jacobison and Wright about a company.

- James| 1 replyA call from a "Mr. Carlson" regarding a "legal matter" for which an unnamed company had tried to contact me "numerous times." Of course, it was the first time I received a call from this specific number - note that the callback number (844-990-776) was not that same as the originating number (510-338-9368, originating in Oakland, CA). It's clear from all of the complaints this is a scam attempt, just adding my experience.
- Caller: No company name given
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to JamesI see that I have posted their information on Page 2 so that you can file reports with the proper federal and state agencies.
