... which is why the block-ignore response is ineffective. Debt collectors have access to many databases we cannot control which track our financial and records movements. If you want a sure solution, you have to send your demands *directly* to the agency, USPS Certified with return card being the best method.

Yup. Asset Recovery. Tried to get my last 4 of SS and ended up having it after I wouldn't say. I owe nothing so this must be a scam.

The number is listed as Asset Recovery, but after alot of harrasing phone calls and C&D letter I started receiving letters and calls from a different number listed as Portfolio Recovery and they are trying to collect on the SAME bogus debt. Also sent them a C&D letter and filed a complaint with attorney general. Apparently when one scam artist can't collect they sell your information to another scam artist. I have now had to place a fraud alert on all my credit reports and changed my cell, home and business numbers.

I have received several calls at various times from 847-257-8333 who have left voice mails looking for a certain female person that I have never heard of !  I never return the call. I figure that it is bogus. If they really wanted to find a person in a legitimate way, there are many resources and electronic database programs to accomplish this.

They are telling me they are from Asset Recovery.  Telling me i have a debt for a payday loan from 2006 or 2008.....I only ever had one and paid it.  They use my maiden name and claim to have my social security number. They do not have my current address,  yet they have my cell #. They also claim to have sent a process server to my old address several times,  but my dad and sister live there and they have never had any contact with a process server.

    Tired of these calls
These types of people had me scared once with their threats of payment, arrest, and a bunch of other things.  Didn't know better then.  This was for a debt I had paid and still had proof I paid.  They buy old debts not knowing if settled or not.  If they get you to pay for something you don't owe that is you loss from their point of view.  They pretend to be paralegals from a lawyers office and all sorts of stuff.  Don't fall for it.  It was an horrible moment for me, but, I learned and know better now.

If you are dumb enough to pick up press and hold the # key, this disrupts the call < and it seems their line is being hacked. You may get rid of them doing this. Under no circumstance engage them with talk.  They may get disgusted and not call back. Debts expire after at the most !0 years so [***] them.

They call every so often but it only rings three times.    No message ever left....they are a scam company looking for money, no one should ever answer these calls, because once you do they will never stop calling even if you owe no debt.

Called my cell and they didn't even let it ring all the way though. Called them back and i swear the most rude scammer/telemarketer/whatever these people are answered. I asked to be taken off their call list which she replied to with "DO YOU KNOW MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ?" I am aware of the actress, yes, however I don't think she was talking about her. I went back and forth 3 times with this exchange until she hung up. She was basically hollering at me and I found it quite amusing. Called back and someone else answered saying something about "Recovery Solutions". Ask for the number off again and she tells me my number is on hold (?) and that it was a misdial. Yea right.
