Received recorded message to press 1 to get lower credit card rates or 2 to opt out.  I pressed 1, a real person answered with "Card Services, you're interested in lower rates?"  I replied that I just wanted to know who was calling as I was going to report them as I'm registered with Do Not Call.  She hung up on me.

These prerecorded messages are illegal. (They are only legal if you gave permission at some point to receive the calls...as if anyone would ever do that! lol)  Anyway, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) forbids unauthorized prerecorded calls. You can report the call online to the FCC, which enforces the TCPA. Here's the link: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do  It just takes a few minutes to fill it out. My guess is, you'll soon get more calls from them; if you do, report each call to the FCC at that link.

Also, the TCPA allows you to sue the telemarketer for $500 for that one call!  Most consumers don't realize that the TCPA provides an avenue for them to pursue monetary damages against the offending telemarketer to the tune of $500 per call. Of course, that involves going to court but it's not as difficult as it sounds. (In other words, if they call you 5 times, they could be liable for $2,500 in damages paid to you.) Check out this link to the website of a lawyer who was startled awake in the early morning hours by an unauthorized prerecorded telemarketing call: http://www.panix.com/~eck/telemarket.html  He tells the detailed story of how he put the provisions of the TCPA to work in small claims court against a lawbreaking telemarketer and made a nice profit. :)

I get this recorded call, telling me that I was selected and that I could lower my credit card payments and so on... That would be great if I had any credit cards...(none since 1984)... At least once per week.  Today I did not catch the call, but my phone recorded the number, and I called it back... "no such number exists", googled the number and found it to be a scam number.  My phone ID said Pensacola Florida.

Got the call as described above.

I asked for the corporate name and address, and the individual asked if I had a pen ready.  When I said yes, he stated, "Kiss My A__ Drive" and hung up.

My phone rang this evening around 5:30 pm NY time. I was running on my treadmill and don't get off it to answer phone calls. I figure I can check the call ID and call them back, my health is more important. It's usually a telemarketer anyway despite being on the no call registry. Any way the only info on the call ID was Pensacola Florida and the phone number 850-475-5122. I have Optimum Voice and all my voicemails go to my email. I always have a record of the caller. They didn't leave a message but I suspect they will eventually. If you have Optimum Voice change all your unanswered calls to be picked up by your service provider and sent to your email. You will have a record of the calls and the recorded message itself.

Just received the same call as everyone described above.

I WOULD like to find a way to take action against them.

I am registered with the Do Not Call List, and as others mentioned DO NOT have any credit cards.

Is there a way we can make this stop??

A call came through with the 850-475-5122 number, one I did not recognize and did not answer.  No message was left and upon trying to call the number back I got the same message that this number has been canceled and or is no longer in service.  Upon Googling the number, I found that the number has been reported several times as a scam.  I am registered on the DNCL as well.

Same experience. In an attempt to be removed from their call list, I pressed "1" to speak to a live person. When I requested a call-back number, "Dana" hung up on me.

I received the recorded msg just as the rest of the ppl on this website have.

I asked her who I was speaking with, and she hung up on me.

I dont know what else to say, it was pretty much the same story as everyone else on here.

they called me twice today.  One time I answered, and no one was there. the next time they left a recorded message.  I realized that this message has been left several times on my machine already in the past.  I thought it had something to do with one of my credit cards
